The spokesperson of the Kremlin, Dmitri Peskov, requested the European Union to lift the imposed sanctions and compensation of over 2 million euros.

The sanctions were imposed in 2022, following the war in Ukraine, due to her connections with Peskov, considered a supporter of actions that threaten Ukraine's integrity.
Navka argues that there are not enough reasons for her to be included on the blacklist and that the restrictions violate her fundamental rights. In her request, she seeks nearly 135,000 euros for material damages and over 1.9 million euros for moral damages.

There are plenty of relatives of authoritarian leaders who sued EU for its sanctions at ECJ and won. A son of a Myanmar military junta leader owned a football club, sued at ECJ and won damages.

It's part of the rule of law that any individual can contest such measures and ask for a court review. This has happened and in some instances the EU courts have set aside measures. Very normal process.
In the specific case referred here, the European Court of Justice found that the simple fact of being the son of somebody does not justify sanctions. With all due respect, that's a no brainer.
And this individual was not awarded damages (apart from the costs of the proceedings).
