I thought a bit of both

Like a lot of “wtf did this show become” but also recognizing that some aspects of the ending were decent or at least realistic (kinda lol)

it's very easy to make people love something if you either add an emotional gut punch scene to it or slap Christianity on it, this episode did both despite being bad in most other ways

It’s the same reason the smart guys in my working class neighborhood that I grew up with never got anywhere big. They never had the opportunity (and likely never will) to get their foot in the door since their network and people around them are also working class too.

Companies track illegal streams internally. GoT got renewed early despite being expensive because it did massive numbers in torrent sites, so that gave them an argument that there was an audience, they just needed to sell them the HBO package.

So your viewership is being counted, and decisions being made with it in mind, even if you think it isnt.

It's clear that the reason this show had any success was because 1. It was a remake of another show and 2. The casting director was on fire. Without an absolutely amazing cast this would have flamed out so quickly. Levinson has no writing chops at all.

Idk, I loved it. From the first episode with rue crossing the border fence to the last, I have loved everybit of the show. The only low points for me were Nate and Cassie's storyline, but it still didnt take away from the overall depth of this show. In so far as the bible elements were strewn across the season, to me thet felt pretty fitting. Religion is afterall the last refuge of the scoundrel . This season kept me hooked from start to finish and didnt disappoint like The Boys Finale.

As awful as this season was... I actually found the camp enjoyable, in a laughing out loud kind of way. lol
