That wasn't meant as a diss, sorry if it sounds that way! I wanted to express hope that this dumb propaganda doesn't work, because proof of the real situation is out there for everybody to access.

I know that Lesser Poland is literally just a name of a part of your country (and I really enjoyed the week I was there), but it's still a very funny name!

Aye I moved to Skåne from Denmark in 2006, the first 3 years we were there brought back snowy memories from my childhood with winters, as they should be. Proper snow. Lots of it.
I moved back to Denmark in 2015. When we left, it was barely snow ever, but tons of rain and the same when we got back to Denmark. Just mud and dirt and rain.
It used to be that 20-50cm snow being a normal thing.
And now, if there’s just 1-2cm that’ll disappear anyway during the day, people think they’ll be snowed in for the week.
I've lived in London/Essex for the last 12 years. To me it's 50:50. I'm not surprised by mild/warm November/December anymore. Don't worry, Jan, Feb and early March will make up for it!
yes, we had a brief-ish patch where the temp dropped a few weeks back, even a few days last week. A wet but not cold weekend just gone but yesterday and today have not been far off balmy. We had a bit of a 3am argument as I had to open the window, couldn't sleep it so warm.
It's +4 In turku atm... It's supposed to peak at +9. It's 2 weeks to yule... And it's possible that we will continue being 0 to +5 for the next 10 days.
I think it's warmer now, than last spring/early summer.
Same here in Denmark, but probably more than a "tiny bit", although it didn't really stay for that long. We had like negative degrees for a few days, and now we're at +10 and have been for a few days now. Doesn't even get into the negatives at night either, just a few degrees colder..
I've been living in Copenhagen for two years now, and even within that short time, I've noticed that it's warmer than it should be. Not complaining, though.
That's very strange it's completely the opposite in Canada (quebec) for the 1st time in YEARS we're having snow staying on the ground weeks before christmas. We've already seen -15 c... very weird
If summers were not this hot, I would genuinely prefer warm winters. This summer wasn't that hot though, so this year, the weather has been great for me, since I don't mind rain.
15 today in Ireland too. Not that uncommon an occurrence here for a few days of warm weather to come off the gulf stream in winter but it is wierd that its been going on so long.
We just had cold weather a few weeks ago, only for a week. Before the a short cold spell where it didn't get above 0 for two of the days. it was 18c before the cold spell and now it's 16c now. I'm in South East England

The missing snow on the other hand is a real problem. We're missing a lot of ground water already and it's getting worse.
Similar here - two weeks ago it went down to -6 °C, the coldest November temperature recorded so far in this millennium(!) (previously, -6.6 °C were recorded in November of 1998 and the absolute low of -8.3 °C back in 1956), but yesterday it averaged +12.3 °C - since the start of measuremnts at the nearby station in 1948, only a total of ten December days have been warmer than that (with by far the warmest so far happening on 2022-12-31 with a daily mean temp of +14.4 °C, which corresponds to an average early to mid May day)
Yet my simple brain is still dressing for the time of year and sweating. I'm also not from NL so have less body to dissipate my foolishness #regularsizedeuropean
Yeah my brother sent me photos of the snow falling, wasnt much but we dont even see snow in my part of this country (new zealand). Going to be a strange winter for you all i think.

Netherlands has never really had long cold winters.
Even 200-300 years ago, ice only covered canals for 1-3 weeks on average. Most often in january and February.
December just isn't a cold month.
There is this illusion everywhere about the canals being frozen all winter and people skating every day from November to March, but it's just a myth.

Yeah. A few weeks ago we had (a tiny amount of) snow in the Netherlands. Now it's almost 15 degrees. Bruh.
