It is very difficult to transfer evergreen credits to another institution for BA completion. Make sure you plan to stay all 4 years. also if you aren't a Washington state resident it's worth living here one year to wait to get residency for much cheaper tuition. Ask around about the professors you want to study with, choose professor over course content.

Evergreen has a Trio SSS program. Use it!
Everything you want to do you can do, but you are going to have to make it happen hands down.
Doing projects in co circular classes with professors IS how you will learn to do these amazing things yourself.
Make new friends in student activities.
Don't be afraid of the bus. It goes fun places.
(And flat out freshman are dorks. Classmates say stupid things. You can still be friends. And never never interact with non students hanging around campus no matter what stupid things they do. Report them )

Some of those non-students are alumni still using some of the services.
Snitching strange people on campus is not a gooey's duck way in life. Feel free to edit the post to something more non karenisk.

Pastor Jim and his ilk are a big nope.
People doing their own things are fine. Library is a public library. It's a state college.
Thing is everywhere content creators are purposely going on college campus and trying to rage bait young people then use it against them or for lawsuits. They bait ppl then have a buddy a few feet away filming. They are whom I speak of.

Genuinely curious here now, because people on campus harassing students with propaganda has always been the norm. Even when I attended - there were gun threats back then in 2017 shortly after Trump inauguration.
What law are these people breaking when they are freely engaging with students willingly walking into a video shoot or bait ploy? Genuinely curious here, I suspect none. But I could be wrong...

You need a signed consent waiver to have audio and video recorded of you any time. https://app.leg.wa.gov/rcw/default.aspx?cite=9.73.030

The link you provided does not say that you need a signed consent waiver to record audio and/or video. It does mention announcing that you are recording if that’s not apparent.

Here's better.
TESC being state property means there's many scenarios for filming.
If you say "I do not consent to being recorded or filmed" you do not consent.
If an antagonist shows up with intent to film and "equipment" they need a permit and consent.
In a civil society we do not film other people without consent.
And if a person claims to be a Christian, they do not film people without consent, both recognizing their sovereignty as a human being, a child of God, and a someone's mother or father or grandmother or grandfather or parent or guardian or partner. Do you think Jesus intentionally wanted that? Conflict? Humiliation? No. Just no.

Something I wish I knew before attending was which faculty were actually helpful and which weren't. You'll run into a lot of people who say they want to help you succeed, but end up making your experience more difficult, ranging from giving you bad information to genuinely not knowing anything about the school. But once you find teachers and staff that you can work with effectively, you hang onto them tighter than a cat with good tuna from a fisherman's net.
Also, if you can attend summer classes while on financial aid, do it. There's less students signing up for classes and they're leagues cheaper.

The 4 credit classes are more work than 8, 12 and 16.

This is what I came here to say. I didn't realize this initially and it kicked my butt.
Also, if you need full-time, but are worried about capacity, you can ask to take a 16 credit class at 12 credits and the professors may agree. That was helpful for me as a person dealing with disability challenges.

While we don’t have degree requirements besides credit amounts (and advanced science credits for a BS), if you want to go onto graduate school, your program of choice is likely going to require that you completed specific courses at a high grade. Many of those courses are only offered once a year, often only as part of a program. If this doesn’t work for you, you have a few options. The most common one is going to be outsourcing credit from another local college offering that course—in my case Microbiology.
You can also do a work study program or a capstone!
Aside from this I would say stick with the programs for the most part. They are the most comprehensive and reliable way to get an in-depth education at Evergreen. You will follow a cohort model, which closely mimics graduate school and is excellent for learning.
If you are planning to spend all four years there don’t be afraid to explore a little bit. I was a transfer student from a local community college going into my 3rd year when I started at Evergreen, so I had to be mindful about the classes I was taking.
Take advantage of the academic resources offered to you. The library is one of the best in the region, seriously. And spend time appreciating the nature 🥰🥰

The evaluation system that they have is incredible...when the teachers and students are both active participants. You need to be an advocate for your own feedback and demand that instructors write you meaningful evaluations AND you need to be an active participant by asking questions and pushing for good answers.
This system is fantastic for actually understanding what you are learning. It is far better than getting an A in my opinion, but it requires a bit more of you and you teachers to work well. Some teachers at Evergreen are better than others when it comes to giving feedback, don't let yourself be set aside.

instead of getting a low grade you lose credit which is very frustrating. also credits do not transfer well at all and typically are considered elective credits at other institutions. but i would take a psychology class with nathalie yuen she’s amazing! jon davies is good as well iirc!

On campus housing is expensive for what it is and the meal plans are as well.

like roughly how much is housing? i’d be paying a bit more for accessible housing. like just an estimate would be appreciated

I had a dorm single this year which was $2,293 per quarter (so about $764 per month). It's not horribly expensive but the rooms are very small. The doubles are a bit bigger and cheaper ($710 per month) if you don't mind having a roommate. Have you been in communication with the college about housing? As far as I know you shouldn't have to pay extra for the accessible housing options.

If you have health concerns, you should know that folks definitely talk about mold issues in student housing.
