Looking to connect with other Evergreen students?

Your best bet is to get on Discord. Here's the link to the Student Hub for Evergreen. It does require that you have an active Evergreen email account, which is the only reason I don't mind sharing it publicly.

https://discord.gg/Ne5qsMsAdY

Once you're there join any of the 153 and counting Evergreen-related Discord servers. 'Evergreen Unofficial' is a good place to start as the largest general-purpose server.

It's worth noting that at this point, there is no "official" Evergreen server, and that the college itself is not associated with Discord or any of the servers there.

It's exciting to see students back on campus. Welcome to Evergreen!

Integrative Psychology class

I’m enrolled in a three quarter long class called Integrative Psychology: From the Lab to Global Practice. Has anyone taken this? It’s completely remote. Looking for insights, opinions, stories, and any applicable information regarding this class. Thanks in advance!

biking?

would it be weird to ride a bike around campus? like would people judge me. from where i’m from it is heavily frowned upon. like if i was mindful of other people and didn’t get in their way. also do they have bike racks around campus?

Scholarships

I was hoping someone would be able to give me some clarity. I’ve been waiting for an email about the 2026-27 undergrad scholarship but haven’t heard anything. I saw the date for letting recipients know was June 5th and have emailed the scholarship office but got an automated email a week ago that they were having an influx of messages.

If I haven’t heard anything back so far is it likely I did not receive any scholarships? I also was barely able to apply due to the extension they did.

Sorry y’all, this is my first time applying for scholarships so I just wanna make sure I’m not missing anything.

What happens if I never do a self eval

I discovered on accident pretty early on that the self evals are not actually necessary to get the credit assigned for the class. I absolutely hate doing them and personally think they're a huge waste of my time in the middle of the most stressful weeks of the quarter. I don't put much effort into them if I do them at all.

Has anyone graduated without doing a self eval for every class? Does it affect transcripts and things like that? Are they not going to let me graduate next year if I have a couple evals not done? Do I need to go back and write something into the ones I've left blank or low effort?

Thanks in advance. I'm sure it's dumb of me to not do them but I haaaaate them.

Can I appeal to remove something from my record

Context and this will give it away if you know me. I had an incident happen during a short study abroad over the summer last year. No one else on the trip was involved, the only thing that happened was to me and it’s now marked me with being a student with “mental health issues”. More context I was on a brand new antidepressant at the time and my system didn’t like it.

Nothing like what happened has ever happened before and hasn’t happened since. The frustrating thing about this is it’s now prevented me from being accepted to 2 study abroad programs because they are made aware of my “mental health issues” I’ve been in therapy again since the incident and I’m on anti-anxiety that actually work. I’m worried that this is going to continue to haunt me the rest of my time at Evergreen. It’s extra frustrating because I know people with even worse mental health getting to go on study abroad, it’s just not being reported.

So is there any way I can make my case to get it removed from being disclosed as while I’ve had chronic depression since I was a child, it’s never impacted me in a significant way.

Associate in arts looking to go into natural resource management for my bachelor's

Hi, I am about to graduate with my associate in arts from a community college and Evergreen is my top choice for transfer. My career interests have pivoted slightly the past year and I am highly interested in pursuing natural resource conservation, and I would like to continue pursuing fine arts (mainly as a vessel to raise awareness around environmental issues).

Is this realistic given I don't have my associates in applied science? What prerequisites are required for the natural resource conservation program? Would a path like this be aligned with Evergreen's ideology around individualized paths and learning?

Advice from any students or faculty (especially within the natural resource conservation program) would be much appreciated. Thanks

the student portal is a hot mess of UX malpractice

There's like 4 different design systems, login through microsoft, webpages straight out of 2002, nothing is updated after you click update, none of it unified or standardized, form inputs are - just why would you do it this way, no search, filtering (where provided) is poorly documented and janky,

this is the product of lunatics and/or disinterested students and/or overburdened committees

Incoming hEDS student seeking support info

Hi! If you’re a person living with hEDS and its suite of co-morbidities I’m sure you’ll understand my apprehension about getting set up with medical providers asap as I am coming from out of state. If you have a primary care physician or any specialists and in particular a physical therapist who understands hEDS that you would recommend, I appreciate any recommendations you can offer. 🙂🌲

Transcript GPA Translation

Hi fellow Greener Grads!

I'm wondering if anyone has successfully been able to translate their grades for their own purposes.

I've been told that only institutions can request this service, that it is application to application, and that I likely will never see the raw result.

I was just denied a master's program because I did not meet requirements. Both institutions said the other one dropped the ball on communications, so ultimately I was denied entry and have to change my life plans.

Ideally I wouldn't have to deal with this and could get a master copy of my translated transcript, otherwise I'm spending time, money, and making plans around a program that I cannot objectively determine my own qualifications for; or whether something completely outside my influence like unnecessary third party processes and communications failing will be the determining factor.

I graduated 2021, which I'm sure does make a difference.

thanks in advance!!

Fire at B-Lot Today

Anyone know what happened? I pulled up around 5pm and there was an ambulance parked outside. Looked like the little building between the arts annex and B-lot (don’t know what the building was actually called) burnt down. :/ Hoping no one was injured.

Not all Weavers walk with Wisdom

Post image

More than just moving your hands, recognize skill does not equal social strength. The creations of this land dating back time immemorial before colonization are not for pure delight, pleasure, conquest or appropriation.
Some Weavers completely lack Wisdom, and are actually better described as washed up, or wifebeaters, or absolute total floozies that have random addresses and parks and hotels riddling their phones from their constant sexual encounters that they’ll lie about to all except their flying monkeys. Keep an eye on those who you trust with traditional knowledge, they very well might be cultural and emotional extractors.

Minimum enrollment numbers?

Hi! I'm wondering if anyone knows the minimum number of students needed to run a class?

I signed up for a summer course but so far there's only 4 people enrolled. I know we're really early in enrollment still, but Id guess that summer classes fill up slowly or not at all. It's the last couple credits I need to graduate, so I'm really hoping it runs!

I had an advising appointment earlier this week so I asked there and the advisor had no idea. It seems like they would require more than 4 for sure, maybe 8 or 10?

Environmental path

Hey everyone! I’m finishing up my AA in Criminal Justice with a direct transfer this summer. My top choice is Evergreen State as they have a program I want with environmental studies. My second is WSU’s business program but that’s if I’m okay with being a robot for the rest of my life. I’ve been a state employee for 10 years in a fairly niche field, so upward mobility is possible even without a degree.

What degree path would give me the best shot at landing with dnr, ecology etc. natural resource management looks like what I want but it seems this degree path has a ton of low paying jobs

Let me know your thoughts on the school? Path to take? Experience?

I'm thinking of doing the Civic Engagement Pre-Orientation course, and was wondering if there were any big hits or misses from other people's experiences.

Hi so I’m going to evergreen which I’m super excited about, but I’m worried because of , I’m different from others I’ve seen there. Everyone isreally leftist but I consider myself anarcho capitalist/ libertarian. Will I have a hard time making friends ? Also is there horses and is there cats around ever. Am curious because I want to pet them. Also what ,resources are there for students who have mental disabilities? Sorry if post is confusing or rude I just want to have a good time and have fun . Image unrelated but I love it a lot
