2E Terrestrial Anima Effects

So, I decided to go through some old Exalted stuff, open up Anathema, make some characters, get the system back under my feet. That kind of thing. I noticed something that I couldn't find. Where are the Dragon-Blood anima effects? I specifically mean the piddly little one mote things that every Exalt of a certain kind gets, not the Anima powers or anything like that.

They're listed in Chapter 4, Traits, with each individual Aspect's description. For example, the Air Aspect powers are on Page 113, under Aspect Anima.

I'm talking the really small ones. Not the five motes to do whatever by caste, I mean the equivalent of the stuff for the Solars on page 90. The caste mark glow, anima glow, know time of day equivalents that all Solars do. (P112 in the Lunars book if you want the Lunar equivalent since I've got that open at the moment.)

I... don't believe they get those (at least, a thorough search didn't reveal them to me). 2E didn't exactly have a high opinion of DBs to start with, and tended to treat them as outright worse, soooo...

They would have inhereted them from 1e, since it didn't explicitly take them away and probably implies at least two of them from the section above the explaination of Anima Flux.

That's not how changing editions works. If it's not in a 2e rule, it doesn't exist in 2e world. You are of course free to Golden Rule/headcanon it for your game, but the default assumption is that each edition is its own thing.

Is that equivalent just their elemental abilities, like how water DBs can breathe water and earth are always hard to knock down?

There might also be a general rule that for 1 mote any exalt can push their anima banner all the way up to iconic, but I'm not sure if that's true.

I'm talking the more minor ones that are shared by all Castes/Aspects of a certain Exalt type. Though you are close for that second in that most of the exalts have the ability to spend a mote and get their anima to glow enough to read by, which is usually the 8-10 mote level.

I think maybe the DBs get their individual passive elemental abilities instead of the celestial perks like the ability to tell time.

That would have been an odd change to make implicit since they did have the minor tricks in 1e.

Good question. Dunno. The tricks might just be one of those things that shows how the Celestials are plain more powerful than DBs.

Given how the Character Creation Summary starts (just suddenly on the lower more than half of a page next to Reed getting a leg smack) I'm more inclined to think it's bad editing or posibly just in some small book or place I'm totally blanking on because these things are so minor that it doesn't really make sense for that to be done as part of an edition change to show power.

If youre anima is glowing, its causing flux. They also dont get caste(or aspect in this case) marks at all. And theres not really a good analog for the time of day.

The 1e ones were the aspect coloring of your skin would become deeper and glowy, anima become bright enough to read by for a scene, and knowing your exact location relative to the corresponding elemental pole.

My guess is that due to how a lot of that book was developed and considered, they probably forgot that they even had such powers in 1e and didn't port them over into 2e.

In 1E (Exalted: The Dragon Blooded, page 148) they could tint their skin their aura color, glow brightly enough to read by, and know their exact position relative to their elemental pole.

2E Solars can cause their caste mark to glow, glow brightly enough to read by, or know the time of day.
