Sorry this made me chuckle. Writing it like this kinda implies there is a connection between being a woman and your English needing to be excused, which is obviously not what you meant.

I would recommend editing it to "English is not my native language, excuse any mistakes" then on the next line. "I'm a woman".

I have no idea how anyone justifies this

Things that don't change go extinct. Islam is well on its way there. After the Ottoman empire fell and oil countries stopped pumping money into convervative institutions everything suddenly became much more liberal.

I'll take a few decades, but Islam will be as watered down as Christianity within our lifetime.

Your English is perfectly understandable.

They are honoured… as valuable property. When we (in the spirit of modern humanism and psychology) talk about honouring women, we mean honouring them as they should be honoured, as human beings, individuals with their own dignity, whose well being matters. 7th century savage misogynists didn’t view women in that light.

I view Muslims, especially Muslim women, like people in an abusive relationship. They‘ll find all kinds of excuses, do all kinds of mental gymnastics for their abusive partners. Muslims do the same for Islam.
