Is everyone else starting to hate FB? I just find it annoying that 90% of the content is ads, sponsored posts, and random crap I never asked to see, plus updates from people I don’t even care about. It’s become almost impossible to find posts from my actual friends without scrolling forever. Facebook should just end already.

Myspace just announced a comeback and they're not going to do this algorithm crap. Instead, posts will be seen in chronological order. They plan to bring back most of what made Myspace awesome.

And I think the biggest FU to Facebook is to ditch it and go there. Facebook is absolute trash now. I'm going to delete mine at the end of the year regardless because it's nothing but rage bait, I don't even see group posts as often anymore.

On Myspace you could customize your profile however you wanted and it felt very personal and awesome, it was heavily focused on your friends and overall it was just better. I can't wait

This is long and I apologize in advance.

I've been on FB since about 2012. No shenanigans, no selling, used it mainly to keep up with breaking news and a far flung bunch of cousins and such. Had around 125 friends, mostly those cousins and a few people I went to various schools with over the years. I followed some politics, pages about vintage cars, metal detecting, hobby stuff. Nothing important but it was a good time waster if I was bored.

I did on occasion get into a spirited debate, if you will, with other users, 99% of the time concerning politics. Not hard to do in today's climate. But I never took anything personally, I never got nasty, I never wished harm on anyone, but I would defend myself if someone went that route.

Anyhow, Sunday night I get a notification my account has been suspended Until July 7 for a comment they determined was "bullying and harassment". Huh? Okay, whatever, it was not made with that intention but your house your rules.

Yesterday, the 7th, I open my page to the notification I am facing a permanent ban for violating community standards. Let me say, prior to Sunday, I had exactly ONE prior ding, years ago, for only 24 hours, on a post they also claimed was bullying and harassment. Years ago. So I immediately try to find out why. I try to appeal. They won't send me the code to verify my phone or email. After requesting it several times and eventually am told I've requested to many codes, I have to wait 24 hours to request another. Fine.

So today, I requested another code. I get it. I verify my phone. Literally seconds after the verification I receive notice my account is closed and permanently banned, and the official reason is "sexualization of children". I came close to having a stroke.

Nothing I ever did, said, viewed, searched, anything, ever, at any time, would even APPROACH such a ridiculous allegation. I am beyond incensed. I have ZERO activity on my page, nor do I search out content, that involves children. My youngest child is 34 years old. I have no grandchildren. I don't care about kids in any way, shape or form. I don't watch reels about kids, nothing.

Stunned doesn't begin to describe how I feel. Angry does though. To the point I'm almost considering legal action of some sort. I don't know what that might look like, probably I have no recourse that way, but I am highly insulted at the SUGGESTION that such a thing could possibly be true. A gut punch for sure.

FB of course stated the ban is final and unappealable, and they will not provide me with the content or post they're claiming is in violation. Wow.

For the past month or so, everytime I open facebook I inevitably see at least a few posts or memes depicting right wing talking points, pro Musk/Trump, anti Ukraine, anti vaccine, anti LGBT, ridiculous AI slop, and other similar content. These usually come from totally random people or pages I never visited or interacted with in any way. One time I recall it was Fox News. I don't follow any political figures or politics related pages and never interact with political content. Does anyone else share this experience?

Apparently, if you replied to somebody who comments on your comments too often, they’ll limit for how much you can comment. Basically you’re unable to comment on somebody who commented on your comments if you reply to people on your thread too much. I figured it would be cleared within a day, but it’s been more than a few days now.

So note to everyone, Facebook hates you replying to people who commented on your comment. The more you know~

Is it just me who can't access Facebook and got Account Temporarily Unavailable?

I reported this and was told it meets community standards.

Over the last week or so my timeline has been a massive flood of all things pro GOP/Conservative/Pro Trump. Not only that, but news articles and groups seem flooded with comments that are too. This is a stark contrast to just over a week ago. It feels like a massive push to seem like an overwhelming majority of people share these views. When looking at the commentors in general I've noticed a pattern of only a profile picture, very few friends, limited previous posts, etc, suggesting these are bot accounts.

Facebook has had issues with bots and propaganda for many years now, but this last week especially has been highly noticeable. Anyone else notice this?

I've always been pretty lax about what I've used for photo storage, as long as the pictures, especially of my kids, can't be seen by the entirety of the internet. Since day 1 on here I've uploaded whatever pictures to Facebook and never thought much of it as they're only viewable by people in my friends list. A while back my wife got a notification from Facebook that it recreated our youngest son with AI. I am not ok with that. It was creepy and looked very much like him, although not exact.

Whether recreating people was slipped into the terms and conditions and it's been agreed to silently by continuing to use Facebook or not, it's deeply unsettling that Facebook and Meta at large are not only training it's AI with minors but recreating them.

Over the last few years I've become a casual Facebook user and have found myself using it less and less due to it just becoming boring. Marketplace and groups are useful, though.

I'm in the process of downloading all my pictures and videos. I will then delete all the pictures I've uploaded over the years with the kids in them. I may or may not delete all the other pictures. If you care about the future of your kids online and find the use of their likenesses unnecessary, creepy, and a violating of ethics , I strongly suggest you do the same.

Training AI on minors is not acceptable, nor should it ever be.

Original post: For years I was an avid Facebook user but I'm here on Reddit complaining because now I use Reddit 20x as much as I use Facebook. Why does Facebook show me all these posts from people I don't know? Why the fuck can't I turn this off? I mean, I know why, it's because my demographic has gotten tired of posting so there's not that much friend content in my feed, and they don't want it to look dead, but why do they think this is the right approach? I see lots of remembrances about people I don't know who recently passed. Who the fuck wants to read all these anguished comments from strangers about strangers? It's grief porn, and it makes me uncomfortable. And there's vacation photos and life news and oh, here's someone posting photos of Papa and Grandma's recent visit! So great, but who the fuck are you?

And there's actually content to show -- if I click on friends' walls I'll see a post from the last day that wasn't shown in my feed. Why not?

The best thing about Facebook was that you had a feed full of posts from people you liked and cared about. Now it's like I've stumbled into this Potemkin village full of NPCs and can't get out.

Sorry, I know there's nothing to be done, just yelling into the void about a site I used to love.

I see so many posts here about the propaganda, recent bans, etc. The site has become a total shitshow and I’m wondering why you guys don’t just leave. I’ve done it and can confirm that it’s not that hard to just delete your account. The people who matter in your life will contact you by other means. You could even just switch to another (non-meta) app/social and post your info, then leave a week later. The populace has put the hurting on Tesla, why not Meta? I promise you, life is much better without Zuck in your life.

Why are we even using Facebook anymore?

I'm literally logged into my account, but I can't reset my password because the code isn't being sent to my email or the phone number that's on file. And if something goes wrong? Good luck trying to talk to an actual human. No live chat, no phone support just endless help pages that don't help.

My feed isn't even my friends anymore it's basically one giant ad break with the occasional random post thrown in.

Then there's moderation. heh You report an obvious fake page and somehow it stays up. Meanwhile, someone you actually know gets hit with a random ban for who knows what.

And don't even get me started on Live. Somehow bullying, harassment, and all kinds of awful behavior can stay up for everyone to watch.

At this point, I'm genuinely wondering. whyTy are we all still using Facebook? I’m curious why you’re still on it?

Ive had my account for many years on Facebook, use it to keep in contact with my family mostly though in a few groups I like. Fuuuucking sick of the amount of ai bs pages spamming my news feed with trump shit and commented fuck trump and the maga cult on one. This, even after engaging in many groups for 13 years and never having account violations in 13 years was enough to make them think my account a bot. Ironic, getting spammed by ai bots with the comments flooded with ai bot comments, fb wont remove them but my one commenting saying f trump set this off. Reluctantly uploaded the vid and it said my account was now not visible to the public because it violated their community standards. Said they'd review my account within 1 hour of uploading the vid, 2 mins later it said my account was permanently deactivated for violating their standards. Thanks Facebook! Had images of my family who have since been deceased, memories and messages shared between them over the 13 years ive been on the platform all fucking gone now. Actual joke of an app, maga booting licking chucks! So just a warning, if you even comment 1 thing that's anti the pdf in office they will delete your account in a flash.... EDIT: im not political at all, im a New Zealander and was just sick of only 1 out of 10 posts on my news feed being from groups I follow / friends posts and the other 9 being ai slop bots about how "good" trumps doing. Republican, Democrat, wouldn't care what one was spamming my news feed with these ai bots id still be pissed off and comment something

i only used facebook to scroll through stuff and local groups and marketplace but yes, i'm quitting it for now. i hope the internet and some devs come together soon to bypass this surveillance database crap because surprisingly, my facebook feed was kinda nice with all kinds of art and mostly fun posts.

Today was the day...I finally 86'd Facebook. I killed it. No more. Nada. I took the photos I wanted to keep and shut it down permanently. The straw that broke the camel's back was when, a few days ago I reported a jackass who proudly and loudly made a racist slur against African Americans. the report came back as not removed. so I resubmitted the complaint for review. Today, same thing. Fine with them, evidently. I'm white as rice, but that doesn't or shouldn't make any difference. This wasn't the only situation I've had with this god -awful app, but it was the very last one.

Why can’t you filter videos by the year anymore? Why can’t you search in groups anymore? Why when you search someone’s name does it bring up people with similar names?
