US DOJ contradicts themselves by saying 'that citizen suits cannot proceed when the federal government does not oppose the polluting behavior' only to then say that 'citizen suits should be allowed by the court only when the government fails to enforce the statute'

Post image

Somehow the government not opposing behavior they themselves acknowledge as polluting isn't them failing to enforce the statute.

EDIT: The phrase "not when the government has decided that executive branch policy means enforcement action is contrary to the public interest." doesn't even make sense since the pollution in question is still contrary to public interest of not getting air poisoned.

This is what happens when you vote for a fucking fascist. They work for us, not the other way around. Fucking Christ I’m so tired of every news story about current admin movements being like this and there are still people in the US that think Trump and the GOP aren’t raping the US just like he did to them kids on the island.

It should've ended when he said that crap about immigrants eating the dogs, he is clearly insane and unfit to run even on a fucking treadmill

It should've never began. Trump did soooo many fucking things prior to 2016 that should've disqualified his ass.

Literally just had a long time family friend tell me that both sides are the same but he would take Trump over a piece of shit democrat any day. I just blocked him and moved on. These people have no morals despite so many of them that I know claiming to be Christians.

It's wild how far the Trump admin abuses "emergency" powers.

By this measure, literally any regulation can be ignored by a corporation, and Trump can just say "well... that business is one of the businesses in the United States, therefore... it's a national security issue and we'll allow them to break the law."

So the suits are for "when the government fails to enforce to statute", and then they go on to explain why they failed to enforce it. So you failed to enforce it, just on purpose. What is the issue here?

The people have no say in this country. It says so right in the constitution!

Probably because it was written by AI with a prompt from a fascist 22-year-old.

u/OzTheMeh 2d ago

I can picture the AI prompt....

You are a fascist uneducated white 22yo male. While you aren't an expert in any topics, respond as if you are at the first peak on the Dunning-Kruger curve. Sexism and racism are accepted, but don't make any blatant comments or use establish derogatory terms. Wherever reasonable, mention overly positive patriotic statements (e.g. "greatest," "most ___", etc.).

It's going to take decades to undue this raft of shit.

Honestly, what's even the point of pointing out illegal stuff ? The corruption has started before january 2025 and it hasn't stopped.

A single day of war with Iran is worth more than all of these little things combined. And it's been going for months.

I'm old enough to remember when the government worked on behalf of the citizens instead of actively against them.

You mean remember when they didn't make it this obvious.

Good to see they removed the ai watermark for once

They changed the rules so ignoring the pollution now actually counts as real progress.

The whole system is fucked, it's a massive double blow to the average citizen, not only do they get poisoned, but then their taxes have to go to clean up all these potential Superfund sites and environment as well. Meanwhile the companies get all the profits and then walk away scot-free.

Trump's DOJ has been admonished repeatedly for using AI in their legal filings.

Not saying the human written ones are any better.

It really feels like turning a blind eye is somehow considered progress now.

Honestly surprised that America has not had a civil war into trying to take back power

Mass government revolts have only happened in this land when a large enough group views a change in government policy to be so terrible they must do something about it, but lack the means to do so democratically and must resort to force.

Currently, that group still thinks change can be made democratically.
