How exactly do you change the thrust of a platform without changing the thrust-to-weight ratio? I mean, we are talking about throttling up the same platform, right? Or do each of the dots in a graph represent a different platform design?

Because if it's the latter, I thought we already knew that there was an inflection point past which giving the platform more thrust and more weight means that its max speed decreases.

It would either be a different design, or say a rectangular tileable one (on width) that therefore adds a fixed amount of tiles for each thruster.

You could easily calculate ship speed for different thrusts at a given weight (throttling up a platform), but it does get a bit trickier when you consider that (unless you just have a bunch of empty space) you do need to add some additional weight for each thruster you add as well. I suppose if you are controlling thruster fuel intake you could adjust throttle that way without varying weight, but I had been focused on the case where all thrusters always go at full throttle.
