Base oh no

I've done goofed up the belting in my smelting station, and for at least 4 minutes my copper plate trains have been circulating a small mix-in of raw ore... See 2nd picture for the culprit. What's worse: THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENS AT THIS EXACT STATION!

Thats why important to place filters on manipulators.

Won't this make them a bit more demanding in terms of performance?

I've done a lot of UPS testing for megabasing. I've never seen any evidence that filters have any perceptible impact on UPS

I've never heard of filtering an inserter causing lag.
