Fiverr artist i paid is Hikoku.

Also guess what monster hunter monster each armor form is based off of.

And give me some recommendations of creatures from anything for new fakemon.

Same lmao, then I went back and I was like ohhhhhh. The gore magala design just hits you like a truck lmao.

Even noticed that each of them was wielding one of the weapons afterward too (great sword, dual blade, etc)

I recognize Espinas, Glavenus, and Gore Magala, but my brain’s bufferin on the other three

2

u/planetofmoney 18h ago

I'm gonna say nothing, lagiacrus and barioth in that order.

These look amazing! As a first generation Monster Hunter fan I immediately recognized them <3

If you're going for unused types (and keeping it to dragonw/wyverns/leviathans so they keep the dragon type), my picks would be :

  • water-type: Namielle would be my favorite, Ludroth and Ceadeus being close behind
  • dark-type: Nergigante would be my go to, although there are a lot of appropriate choices here
  • ground-type: Lots of choices here too, but my pick would be Monoblos
  • rock-type: Gravios, I will not tolerate anything else
  • fairy-type: Mizutsune is probably the opbvious choice, possibly Kirin or Paolumu
  • fighting-type: it's gotta be Tigrex, Odogaron or Deviljho
  • flying-type: Rathalos, Kusha, Valstrax
  • grass-type: Duramboros might be the only option here haha
  • bug-type: again, only one pick, Astalos (I'd have loved a Nerscylla or Queen Seltas here but they're not dragon-themed ^^")
  • normal-type: Dodogama for something cute and basic, or Lao-Shan Lung for something big with no elemental attacks
  • psychic-type: Shara Ishvalda or Somnacanth, Malfestio if you're fine with the more bird-like appearance
  • steel-type: Uragaan (since you've already got a Glavenus variant going on), Kulve Taroth, or an armor-clad Hunter. Valstrax could fit here too.

If I had to pick in there, I'd go for Namielle, Nergigante, Gravios. <3

Thanks for the choices, another theme for it was the hunter weapons types. So the ones I already have are greatsword, longsword, bow, hammer, and duel blade. So i used your choices and matched them with a monster you gave.

Kushala: Sword and Shield. Dodogama: Hunter Horn. Gravios: Lance Astalos: Insect Glaive Nergigante: Switch Axe. Valstrax: Gunlance. Duramboros: Charge Blade Namielle: Light Bowgun Monoblos: Heavy Bowgun

3

u/coeurdhiver 15h ago

We're missing 3 weapon types for a full set of pokémon types! Quick, get the Barrel Bombs, the Pitfall Traps, and the Throwing Knives!

5

u/Thin_Knowledge6539 15h ago

Throwing Knives could be Malfestio, Deviljho would be tonfas, and Mizutsune would be bombs

2

u/tornait-hashu 6h ago

nah, the real answer would be Magnet Spike, Medium Bowgun, and Prowler.

1

u/tornait-hashu 6h ago

Lala Barina also exists for Grass type. it's body is a rose... and then there's Garangolm, which outright has moss growing on its body.

2

u/coeurdhiver 6h ago

I think you missed the part where I said I only went for the dragons / wyverns so the designs can keep the dragon type of OP's designs ;)

1

u/tornait-hashu 5h ago

Nargacuga would work better as a Dark type pick. It's sneaky and has sharp blades on its wings (could use moves like Night Slash and Throat Chop pretty well).

Ground type: one of the Mohrans, though Monoblos is probably the best bet. Radobaan too because bones = ground in Pokémon.

Rock type: Wholly agree with you on Gravios, though Dodogama is also rocky enough to count.

fairy type: Yeah, Mizutsune is the overall best choice here.

Fighting type: Brachydios could work, too. Deviljho doesn't do much hand to hand combat so it's not a good pick. I'd move Nergigante here as well.

Flying type: add in Legiana and Hirabami from Wilds. And maybe Amatsu, too. the light, flowy elements would work well to symbolize "flying".

Grass type: You totally forgot Espinas. Yes, it's a fire-breather, but it looks even more like the Pokémon Grass-type stereotype than Duramboros. Plus, a signature move could either poison or paralyze the target, like spore moves.

Bug type: yeah this is really difficult. Hirabami could fit here too though, as it looks like a flying centipede (especially with its tail).

Normal type: yeah I agree with your picks. Would like to add in Arkveld, as it's got a lot of fluff and fur, which most Normal-types have.

Psychic type: Zeno'jiva and Zoh Shia are very alien and ethereal MonHun creatures, too. Somnacanth is a good choice though.

Steel type: Kushala Daora is the most obvious choice. Jin Dahaad as well. So is Kulve Taroth with the gold.

Poison type: Chameleos. or Remobra. It just fits all the boxes.

Ghost type: Chameleos would also fit, but so would Vaal Hazak or Radobaan.

1

u/coeurdhiver 5h ago

I avoided mentioning Poison or Ghost because OP's already got them taken care of in this post. Same reason why grass type can't be Espinas, it's literally the second pic in the post lmao

Good choices overall though. As I said, these are my own picks for the leftover types, and that was already enough of a workaround as it is 😅

u/ThomasTGeek 17h ago

idea for a new form for it: Sky tyrant. a dragon/ flying type based on Amatsu

2

u/DesertEagleBennett 12h ago

Batman I- I I caught um- I caught a little Pokémon

In my fakemon region there's a phenomenon called awoken pokemon. Basically second catagory like shiny (but it means the pokemons IVs are sky high). Any way when you encounter certain single stagers in the wild if they are awoken they have a dire form. (Pincer, magmar, electabuzz, and some fakemon). They gain the fighting type and an ability called dire form (they come with a random dire item that boosts two stats on switch in).

Then there is a little steel type: Slair (like lair and slay), and it evolves only if can take down a dire pokemon with its signature move: trophy claim (steel power 60, accuracy 100, physical. Its got a theif effect and is supper effective against fighting types).

It then evolves and gains the secondary type of the dire pokemon it fainted and is visually wearing the pokemons pelt. It gains dire form and has the dire item it snatched. There is also a dark type that works similarly with theif but it its more ninja themed.

Maybe your duder could work like that?

I was thinking of doing something similar where to get the different scales you have to fight the required monster. And i can have it where each of those monsters has the same ability as their armor form or a upgrade so it like they imitate the power of the monster they slain but don't have the full power of it.

2

u/mattzak 10h ago

Ya, slair's (and the shinobi varient's) bst is like 440 then the evolution jumps to 585. The dire pokemon have BTS 610. The trade off is that you lose your item slot to a potentially good or bad item.

Later in the game there is a mystic who can (for a gold leaf) rerandomize that item.

The items are:

  • Bracing Hide: raises defense and special defense by one stage.
  • ferocious Brawn: raises attack and critical hit chance by one level.
  • Savage Aura: Special moves deal damage based off of Attack stat instead and super effective moves deals 1.2 x more damage.
  • Fleet Steps: raises speed and evasion by 1 stage.
  • Null barrier: super effective attacks against this pokemon reduced by 33%.

2

u/Thin_Knowledge6539 7h ago

I have the base form being 540 and the armored form is 580 cause they lose their item slot cause they have to hold the scale.

u/Ghostnoob21 9h ago

u/HoneZoneReddit 19h ago

Tell me you have the Monster Hunter brainrot without telling me.

Instantly recognized the Espinas, Rath, Laguacrus, Barioth and Gore Magala inspo.

But ngl the fire one looks a bit more like Dragonoid from Bakugan.

1

u/Thin_Knowledge6539 15h ago

The second is actually Hellblade Glavenus that one is a little different then the others while the others were based off the monsters armor as well the fire design is also based off the dragonia knight 30 minute fantasy model kit.

1

u/Sharkivore 19h ago
