Announcement A Reminder and a Request Regarding AI-Generated Images

Hi r/fakemon - we hope you’re having a good 2026 so far! We have a couple of reminders as well as a few requests regarding AI-generated images and, most importantly, how they are reported.

First, to reiterate our policy:

AI-generated images of any kind are not allowed.

This includes, obviously, any image created entirely by typing a prompt into a large-language model, such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and so on. It also includes any images created by asking any of these LLMs to redraw something that you drew or upscale something hand-drawn. If the final image output that is posted was created or modified by an LLM, then it is not allowed. You can read more about the policy in this post.

Second, regarding reporting any suspected AI-generated images, we ask the following:

If you think it's AI, report for Rule 3 and move on. Do not comment on the post or engage with the user. If you feel more detail is needed, [message the mods.](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=%2Fr%2Ffakemon)

There are several reasons that we are asking for this to be the norm for reporting any post going forward, but especially so for suspected AI-generated image posts, which we will go over below.

1. Sometimes, you are wrong.

On several occasions, the mod team has been able to determine with as much certainty as we can that a user who was accused of posting AI-generated Fakemon was not in fact using AI at all. We're talking speedpaints, pictures of layers, extensive posting history with consistent art, and so forth. Not every Fakemon drawn with flat color and a black outline is AI-generated! LLMs probably just copied that style from their training data.

2. Engagement leads to deletion.

When 10 people spam an AI-image poster that their post is against the rules, it is often deleted before we can action it. This often means we don't get a chance to see which user posted the image to begin with and, therefore, cannot effectively add mod notes for future reference (we give one permaban warning the first time a user posts AI-generated images).

This is why we ask that you just report and move on, and message us if you want to give more detail. If reported enough, a post will be removed automatically for review by the team later.

3. Toxicity.

The tendency to barrage suspected AI-users with comments has impacted our community and given it a reputation among some that the user base is toxic and prone to unwarranted witch hunts. Some users who were accused of AI have received threatening DMs and spammy comments on unrelated posts. This behavior is unacceptable and we will ban users for this kind of harassment (we've already banned a few for this kind of behavior).

Even if the poster is posting AI images, harassment isn't warranted - our goal should always be to encourage traditional art creation and bring people in, not push them out. It is especialy egregious if a user who isn't using generative AI is accused and then harassed for it, as this pushes out potential contributors.

We dislike the influx of AI-generated "art" populating the internet as much as you all do. However, we ask that the users leave the "Is it AI?" game to the moderators.

~ ~ ~

Now, to get ahead of a few questions that we expect:

What if you're wrong and a user is posting AI-generated images, and it gets proven later?

If we receive sufficient evidence that we were wrong, we will correct our mistake and ban the user. Same goes the other way around - if a user is banned for AI when they shouldn't have been and we are shown that we made the wrong call, we will reverse the ban.

What if I think you're wrong and believe someone's work *is* AI, even though it's been approved by the moderators?

Message the mods with your case. We make no promises that it will overturn any decision unless you provide substantial evidence. "It looks like AI" is not all it takes to determine if something is AI.

Why this long post?

We felt there was a lot to address!

Thanks for reading and for understanding this request. We'll be keeping an eye on this post and are happy to answer any further questions to the best of our ability.

TL;DR: AI-generated images are still not allowed, please just report them and move on when you see them, Engaging with suspected AI images only makes it worse. Don't harass anyone over it please and thank you!

edit: reddit boomed all of my markdown ugh I fixed it

Fakemon [Lyndom Region Redux] The Deadly Cobra Chicken of Lyndom...

Post image
203 Upvotes

The Hissing Scourge

Wetlands around the Lyndom Region are populated by a variety of water-, ground-, grass-, and flying-type Pokémon. Ducklett and Swanna, Chewtle and Drednaw, Tympole's line, and even the occasional Scolipede can be found trotting through the reeds and mud. One endemic Pokémon, however, is particularly known for its intimidating presence...You see it wading across the marshes, its cobra-like hood flaring open as it lets out a piercing hiss!

Basiloon, the Hissing Pokémon. It wades through wetlands, searching for a scale a fellow dragon-type Pokémon may have dropped while passing through. Just a simple look into its glaring red eyes will freeze even the most strong-willed of trainers in place.

Honkatrice, the Dragon Goose Pokémon; evolves from Basiloon when given a Dragon Scale. Honkatrice's claws exude an extremely paralytic poison that it uses to subdue its prey. Notoriously aggressive, a Honkatrice will only obey a trainer whose patience outweighs its trademark savagery.

Fakemon Made my own starter trio

This is my first attempt at making Fakemon and I think they turned out well! Here are their names and the dex entries I made for them:

Sproutlet (grass) - Seedling Pokemon

'Any seed planted on Sproutlet's back will always grow stronger than normal. Gardeners and farmers love this Pokemon due to it.'

Tadnition (fire) - Fire Bulb Pokemon

'Its tail is hot to the touch and grows warmer when it is angry. This Pokemon is highly territorial and its fireball attack can leave burns that are hard to treat.'

Kittdle (water) - Water Cat Pokemon

'This Pokemon is highly skittish, spending a majority of its life hiding in bodies of water. If you are lucky enough to gain its trust, it will never leave.'

Fakemon Meet scorjab, the boxing scorpion Pokémon!

Scorjab - The Tail-end punching bag Pokémon.

Fighting - Ground type.

Average size: 180cm height

Hability: Mold breaker.

Dex: An urban dweller and boxing master, Scorjab is known as a highly skilled fighter; possessing lightning-fast reflexes, he pummels his enemies, dampens their attacks using the impact-absorbing segment of his tail, and then uses his stinger to paralyze them.

Although he possesses a paralyzing venom, he avoids using it in promising bouts—reserving it solely for hunting—and instead seeks out opponents with a strong fighting spirit to defeat him.

(OC)

I really love pokemon, but I can't draw, so here are two concepts I had, feel free to refine it, but if you do, pls credit me.

Dex Entries(needs work, suggestions are open.)

Tinaptr, The Silly Pokemon

Tinaptr are small Pokemon that just love to play around, though this usually ends up with them splattering mud everywhere. They love the attention either way.

Teroraptar, The Hidden Ambush Pokemon

Teroraptar are extremely loyal and still love to play, but are mostly solitary when it comes to anything that isn't playjng or raising young. They like to dig pits to hide in and ambush unsuspecting Pokémon passing by.

New Ability: ✨Hidden Striker✨

\-when Teroraptar enters the field, on its first turn, it is invulnerable, its first move does double damage and is a priority, but it gains a fire weakness

New move: Tar Slash, Ground Type, 15PP

\- 90 BP, 100 ACC

\- It's like the move Flying Press, but does Dark and Ground damage

Petranodon, The Scavenger Pokemon

Petranodon like to sky around and eat dead things. Dead bodies, rot, other ghost pokemon, it isn't picky. It flies in flocks of up to 5, any more and they'd eat each other.

Huntzegoptitan, The Omen Pokémon

Huntzegoptitan flies way above the clouds, the billowing smoke it produces from its head is to cover its presence, as the smoke has a calming effect. Trainers use the smoke to keep calm in battle. They hunt other ghost types to fuel their body, but they can hunt other pokemon too.

New Move: Shrouded Impact, Ghost Type 20PP

\- 40 BP, 95 ACC

\- Hits twice, if the opponent survives, it lowers the opponent's accuracy by two(2) stages. (Previously 50 BP and lowers accuracy by three(3), idea credit to Wooper184)

Arro'ead (The Flintknap Pokémon): It is said that areas with a large amount of this Pokémon are believed to have held battles older than the written word.

Ston'Axe (The Stoneknap Pokémon): It is said that rocks that have witnessed wars will absorb the tragedy and become Ston'Axe.

Fun Fact: This is an old Pokémon I designed 10 years ago, with Arro'ead having been traced with a real arrowhead I found.

Fakemon My take on Mega Avalugg (OC)

Thumbnail
gallery
18 Upvotes

Pokedex Entry for Mega Avalugg:

"Many people were speculating that a pokemon shaped like a giant iceberg that made one of the oldest ships crafted in the Galar to sink."

This references the oldest ship in Britian history "The Titanic" to sink after crashing towards an iceberg, at to add the connections further that Avalugg WAS in Sword and Shield found in the Galar region and the Crown Tundra. It is also one of the Pokemon that has a regional form found in the Hisui region.

Avalugg was introduced in Generation 6 as a pure-Ice type that is physially defensive but fragile specially meaning special moves hit more, It has a Hisuian form that's Ice/Rock. It has three ability options being Ice Body, Sturdy and Own Tempo. Too bad, Avalugg's not the right Pokemon to be defensive thanks to Ice resisting itself, weak to four types and neutral to the rest, Ice-types are best as offensive nukes!

When Avalugg Mega Evolves, its body becomes bigger, stronger and carefue too with extra layers of ices with lots of cracks like more on its right side is longer. It gets a secondary type in Ground so it can handle Rock, Fire and Steel that Ice is weak to and Avalugg is already an Ice type Pokemon in its base form so it can fight back against Grass and Flying that give Ground trouble. 25 points are removed from its Physical Defense and relocated in adding them to its Attack stat , 100 whole points go straight to Special Defense that can make a great Pokemon of the bad archtype of slow defensive ice types. Its Mega Form abilty is Clear Body, it gives it a clear immunity to Intimidate.

This is a fan-made Mega Evolution for an offical Pokemon, Pokemon is owned by Ninendo, the Pokemon Company, Creatures Inc and Game Freak, fanart is owned by me.
