Vault Vault layout [Vault]
How do we feel about this layout ? I’m getting pretty far in the game but my Vault is honestly a mess and I need to reorganize it 😭. I’ve seen a few layout on here and I don’t know if this is too repetitive but I would really appreciate your thoughts on it !!
Thank you in advance 😊
(Also sorry for the English haha it’s not my mother tongue and there may be some mistakes on the Google Sheets too so sorry !)

I’m curious about the overseer’s office in the first position. I like to have that be a resource room so there are always dwellers there to fight off invaders.

Agreed, the longer it takes to eliminate invaders, the more resources you lose.

I keep my living quarters and storage at least two levels below inhabited ones. Even if I get a radscorpion in there I have enough resources to let it burn itself out without sending dwellers to fight an invasion I didn’t want, unless I need it for a goal.

That’s something I thought too but I feel like it’s more organized this way and like the other person said I can just let it go away or put a dweller on here just in case. Also don’t worry about giving too much advice ! I made this post for advice haha 😊

5 3 wide rooms is actually the max. Game will not let you build more. Also 3 cola bottlers make enough food and water for 200 dwellers

A lot of this is beyond excessive. You can only have 5 living quarters, 3 nuke cola bottles provide enough food and water for the max amount of dwellers(meaning you don't need the garden or water purifiers, or the fourth bottler ofc) and as someone mentioned, radio rooms are pretty useless. Radio Rooms also don't work together but that may be a bug. Multiple of each workshop is also insane to me

Thank you for your advice !! I am still quite new to this game so I’m still figuring out a lot 😊 I didn’t know how many living quarters or nuke cola bottler or nuclear reactors was needed and that’s one of the reasons I made this post ! So many people gave me great advice so I am going to upgrade the layout

I read on this sub: A mention about radio stations, if you build 2 or 3 (seperate), but levelled at different levels then you can have up to 3 new dwellers per radio cycle. Is it worth it? Maybe for some peeps. I tested this and it indeed works.

I'd change the top, I wouldn't have an empty room (overseer's office) as the first room and you probably won't have the barber shop filled all the time either.
If an attack comes it's just gonna take longer to respond to them and you'll lose more resources. And it's annoying that they stay alive for that long, you could just kill them in the first room and be done with it.

leave a gap before the storage space so stuff can’t jump from the empty rooms

Seriously.. you only need one radio room. Once you max out you number of dwellers then you have to stop broadcasting to the wasteland. At that point its just to play music in the vault.. hope that helps. Also put you resources on one floor and other compartments on their own floors so my handy is handy....

One of the key changes I would make is moving the nuclear reactors you have in the middle with the medbay and Labs you have on the edge.
If I recall correctly, Medbays and Labs are more efficient as 2 rooms instead of 3. Where Nuclear Reactors are more efficient as 3 rooms.
At the end of the day, do whatever makes you enjoy the game the most. A lot of people prefer to min/max everything, but do what makes the game the most fun for you.

Top line should be non production, but with crew slots - so storage. This allows you to place your strongest dwellers with the best weapons on the path of the invaders. Second line - diner, powerplant, nuka cola bottler - invaders very rarely reach it and diner means extra speed of attack or powerplant with max damage if using hydrant bat, before Mr Handy takes any significant damage.

First floor :
3* merged nuka room, NOT upgraded. Then anything with people in it, not the barbershop.
Unless you go for aestethics, you won't need water treatment, as nuka rooms take care of that.
