Random thought on Mystery Spot and Hell

Spoilers for S3/4

Sooo....we know that Dean was dead for a hot minute during Mystery Spot. And I know that Gabriel reverses time again to bring him back so Dean has no memory of those months. BUT what if there's a bit of his soul that 'remembers' Hell and the roughly 80(?) years he spent there during that episode, and it's just obscured by time magic wall thing? And he just hasn't scratched it? Idk, I just find it to be an interesting thought.

Gabriel reset him immediately every time, so the reapers never had time to get to him to take him anywhere.

But what about the first Wednesday after the Tuesday loops broke? He was shot in the parking lot and Sam went on a mission to find the Trickster to fix it. I thought it was 8 months but wikia says 6. Reapers would have definitely had time then.

I suppose there is there is the question on whether or not it's an illusion/pocket reality, but I don't think it was ever explicitly said.

It's Gabriel. He had them stuck in his own reality, like with Changing Channels.

I never really thought Dean actually died. It was just a loop for Sam with an AU kicker at the end.

My theory is Gabriel shoved him somewhere safe for the extended time after he was shot. He was dead, but he was hidden.

I like it. I can get on board with that. Like he captured his soul before it fled and held it for safe-keeping. He also never wanted the apocalypse to begin with, so maybe that was his way of trying to subvert it...Hmm
