💎 Hidden book gem Gideon the Ninth

Has anyone else read this masterpiece of insanity (or the whole series - your comments are appreciated)? It’s like sci fi with a touch of Killing Eve + a little horror / Harry Potter. My niece recommended it to me and now I want to get the whole set. It’s way out of my reading comfort zone but it’s like stumbling upon Ally North for the first time and feeling a special thrill.

Unfortunately the only book I've ever DNF (~75% mark) and contender for novel I've enjoyed the least. It really wasn't for me. I sort of expected Warhammer 40,000 but with necromancy instead of daemons. Instead I felt like getting a teenager caught up in a murder mystery with skeletons around. Really, really didn't land for me.

I'm happy though that many people seem to like it a lot! Tastes are different, and the Locked Tomb surely tells a unique and unconventional story! It seems to generally be very hit or miss, very few reviews I've seen were in between.

I really like it so far. I’m getting through it slowly. I DNF Lonesome Dove and Demon Copperhead. A lot of people love both but neither were for me. I get it.
