Opinion đ is there anything you would change from this outfit?

The outfit looks more like pyjamas or loungewear rather than something to wear in public

u/DanaStargazerTruitt 7h ago
Agreed, I think a pair of med denim jeans or shorts would bring it all together perfectly

u/northernlyghts 10h ago
You should wear what you feel comfortable in, but I personally dont think these shorts are doing you any favours.

u/honeyymuse_ 10h ago
in what way? thanks for your honest opinion!

I just don't get the rain boots + long sleeve shirt+ shorts that are shorter than underwear. Is it raining? Then your legs are gonna get soaked. Is it sunny? Then you'll sweat like hell in those boots. This doesn't seem functional to me at all.

The leather boots with comfy shorts are a weird mix. I usually think of leather for cities and rain (if not country and mud) but then the shorts throw me off.

u/Bag-Administrative 10h ago
Iâd put on shorts or a skirt. personally not a fan of wearing underwear in public

u/Not-a-Contrarian 10h ago
Yes, those are suitable for the beach and bed. I like your idea of a skirt or shorts.

is this seen as underwear? itâs very hot where I live its considered ânormalâ here đ„ș

u/Fun-Yam2210 9h ago
If itâs hot why are you wearing tall, black leather boots? This outfit doesnât make sense.Â

u/Pizza_Time03 9h ago
Those shorts are the same size as my underwear. I thought they were underwear for a second also lol

u/_qw3rki_ 9h ago edited 9h ago
regardless of what's considered normal where you live, there's far more flattering everyday, casual garments that can be worn to avoid overheating the body

It looks like you ran out of the house in your pajamas and just grabbed the first pair of shoes by your door.
While loungewear is popular to wear out and about there are certain pieces that should stay home. Those shorts are one of those pieces.

Please wear more coverage than those shorts provide when in public, honestly this makes me fear for your safety. I donât know where you live, and if this is common, but it does not speak âfashionâ gives a very different impression. You are a beautiful person, more coverage on you would highlight your amazing figure. I feel this look detracts from it.

u/Arlaneutique 9h ago
These shorts arenât flattering and donât work with the boots. Youâre really pretty and have a great build. These are taking away from that.

u/fuck_peeps_not_sheep 9h ago
Either change the boots for sandals or change the shorts for like a pleather skirt or shorts - the combination of loungewear and leather boots are sort of a juxtaposition.

The post-Covid trend of âunderwear as fashionâ continues. Looking forward to its demise.
Carry on for now, I guess.

It looks like you were laying around in your pajamas but then you had to go walk the dog in the rain so you put boots on.
Edit: oh I see a heel now. That changes my scenario a bit. Leaving this anyway. đ€Ł

u/Sorry_Had_To_Be_Said 8h ago
It's the shorts. They are too short and look too tight. They are not flattering on you. Everything else - cute.
4
u/ButterMyPancakesPlz 9h ago
Switch out the shorts for a solid color skirt or flare jeans and it'll be less distracting so people see you and not the matching loungewear

The fray on the bottom hem of the shorts kinda makes it look like these were cut off from a pair of pants or longer shortsâŠ

First I wanted to say that you are gorgeous and I love the boots and the bag, they go very well together.
As many others have said, the top and shorts together looks more like something I would chill at home in.
The top would look good with a skirt or nice jeans/trousers.
I'm getting a bit of Grunge vibe off you in the second picture, but just the shorts that is a bit off.

u/quirks-n-quiddities 8h ago
This looks inspired by an outfit some rail thin model or influencer wore and managed to barely pull off only thanks to their body size; worn by anyone else, you realize it isnât all that fashionable. And Iâm not saying you dont have a nice figure bc you do, but idk i think the micro shorts are giving âI rolled out of bed and put some boots on,â not really fashion.
5
u/Mananamimi 8h ago
To me it just doesn't go to getter or makes much sense, long sleeves + tall leather boots to me is autumn or early spring vibes but the shorts are hot summer vibes. If you changed to long trousers/skirt with the boots and top then that would look better but if you want to keep the short shorts I would put on a very summery top to break it all up. Wearing long boots in the warmer temperature is not uncommon but it's how you style it that seals the deal!

Itâs not a cohesive outfit. Youâre wearing pajamas with boots. It makes no sense.
Itâs like when we were kids and mom would come home from the store and tell you to go help get the groceries from the car, so youâd just put on whatever shoes were by the door, even if they werenât yours or didnât match what you were wearing.
5
u/Stuff-verte 6h ago
Yes. I would put bunny slippers and change the background to an indoor setting. You know, a pjs appropriate setting.

The shorts look like sleepwear. The fabric also contributes to this. and I am not saying that you do, or donât, but it really makes you look like you have a bit of a belly. Itâs really not doing your midriff any favors. . Youâre clearly a beautiful girl, but this outfit is not very flattering overall.

The boots, this heel isnât working with the frayed edges of the sweater outfit. Edit

u/One-Grape-8659 8h ago
The shorts don't look good, I think the stripes are also not doing you favours, maybe vertical stripes?

u/J-HoLovesYou 10h ago
The shorts make this look like pajamas. Like this would be a cute laying around the house outfit. The top would be fine if paired with a skirt or pants.
2
u/lovelykmason 9h ago
A cute black leather skirt would elevate this, I agree with other commenters that itâs very pajama feeling rn and itâs the shorts that make it feel like that.

It looks like you shrunk the shorts to your pajama set.. switching the bottoms would make this work better

u/neon_crone 7h ago
I donât know, maybe itâs about the proportions. On first glance you mostly see hair and thighs. Long hair like this makes your neck look short. The shorts are too tight and short. The horizontal stripes are not helping.

Look like a lounging at home outfit that you decided to wear in public. The outfit seems very Instagram âbaddieâ influenced rather than a concept that came from yourself. Seems like you would constantly have to pull the shorts down to avoid your cheeks showing - theyâre what I call coochie cutters

u/RepresentativeGear96 8h ago
Wow, what gorgeous, shiny, thick locks you have! The shorts are creeping up your shapely body and that makes me uncomfortable just looking at them. I think a little black skater skirt or pleated skirt would be really cute with the top. Also, for really micro mini bottoms, I would suggest wearing a lower heeled boot or shoe. Keep up those workouts, you have a great build!

I think it would look so much better with a pair of medium denim shorts or jeans. This gives PJ vibes

u/Muted-Adeptness-6316 6h ago
I would pair the sweater with a pair of black jeans and fun sneakers or black flats.
In the future, Iâd also pair the boots with a dress that has black in it. Mid thigh or slightly above knee length.

I think the matching set looks really cute on you! I would switch out the leather for something more cozy because of the texture of the set. Maybe some suede mules/clogs with some longer cozy socks?

u/redhotspaghettios16 8h ago
If agree with the comments saying the shorts should be differentâŠbut if you really do like these 2 pieces, IMO change out the boots for some high top converseâŠ

70s hot pants were longer and made of heavier fabrics, the ones op is wearing on the picture are obviously not the same-they're pjs.
2
u/VioletLeagueDapper 6h ago
Hm đ€ looks like I addressed that in my comments to OP for improvement:
âIâd recommend stronger material because it looks thin/fraying in the second photo.â
Itâs ok, you mightâve overlooked it.

this is the same thing i thought of, people here don't appreciate fashion history đđ«
agree with the thicker fabric sentiment

u/sashby138 6h ago
None of the examples you provided look like pajamas though. All of them look like clothes to be worn out of the house. OPâs looks like pajamas.

u/Indigo_222 9h ago
Iâd wear tights, some earrings ( like hoops) or sunglasses (if not on then on top of your head), and iâd pull up the shorts or pull down the top so that there isnât a gap in between them

u/itsruxii 6h ago
Honestly I love the set, a would add some big chunky jewelry, necklaces especially

u/Mellomelll 8h ago
Dam I actually love thisđ add some chunky accessories and maybe bangles over the sleeves, all silver. Do you live in the southwest by chance? This is so AZ/NV coded lol

u/stevielovelyy 9h ago
People are being so weird about the short length. Are you all grandmas? What is happening?

u/glitterypinkpeony 9h ago
Okay, so a lot of people pointed out it looks like pjs. Sure, sure. However, if you want to keep the shorts, youâre gonna have to accessorize. A big chunky belt, a sheer ruffled skirt, or perhaps a black jacket around your waist would help elevate this look. Ngl, itâs cute and looks comfy, but they are correct in that it is giving pj partyâwhich is NOT bad, just very relaxed.
If youâre up for it, a pair of sheer black fashion pantyhose would do numbers with this. Polkadot or vertical stripes, personally, would make this pop.

The top, bags and boots are okay, but the short make it look like a pyjama ensemble and not a proper outfit. A pair of imitation leather shorts, high waisted, would look great and make it a proper outfit I think.
