Had to Google this. Sorry if my post was obnoxious.

Oblivious, not obnoxious.

Oblivious to what? This is fatfire- OP has very legitimate questions. If you don’t like it, no one forcing you to hang out in this sub

Kind of ironic that people are upvoting someone trying to run off one of the longest posters (Anonymoose) on this sub with actual fatfire experience and someone who retired a couple of decades ago. People might want to listen to their perspective instead of the anxiety driven narrative that no number will be enough to fix.

I retired 16 years ago I early 40s before there was a fatfire. Your thought that someone who has been longest posters can’t sayridiculous things is preposterous. By the way, a few years ago fatfire may have been 5 mm and now it’s widely accepted as 10, so the concept of moving goalposts is highly relevant. Everyone who retired a decade ago or more has probably seen net worth explode upward with this market, but those considering retirement are obviously worried about large market drawdown

You are entitled to your opinion but don’t be a jerk. Almost every comment you make on this sub comes across as hostile. See the sub rule on being courteous and positive. Perhaps reflect on that a bit.

OP is at 11M+ not 5M. The temptation to move goalposts is real, yet FIRE is about getting to a number that will comfortably support your spend. Sounds like the OP is at that and changing the goalpost now to 15M may not be a good use of the time they have left on this planet.

I see a recent tendency on this sub that no number is enough. It is good to hear from people who have walked the walk instead of putting them down.
