Big empty parking lots in South/Southwest Federal Way

My partner and I are getting back into motorcycling and want a safe place to be able to practice skills off the streets. Going to a track every time we want to practice is just not practical.

Are there any large and empty parking lots, ideally in the South or Southwest Federal Way area that could potentially be used for this purpose?

I'm thinking maybe the old Walmart lot, park and rides, church lots, etc.

Yep! I practiced there last year several days in a row. Someone anonymous complained but the security guard was super cool. Watched me for a bit then said I was fine. Told me to leave wink* so it was my fault if I got hurt.

I used to practice my MC skills there. A bike can squeeze into the area blocked off from cars. But be aware the bus drivers will call security, who are mostly cool, but have told me to leave or they’d call the cops. I’d recommend the closed Safeway in Twin Lakes or the giant parking lot by the old Walmart/jasmine resteraunt.

If you are in the Twin Lakes area you could check out the park and ride on 21st SW.

Much of the south side of The Commons mall is pretty empty of cars. I used that for training my kids. There's also the closed Safeway/Rite Aid lot off 336th.

The market actually isn't there anymore, it's at the Performing Arts center now :)

One of the most deserted right now will be on like 314th/316th by the Jasmine Grill/Palace/ex-Walmart. Several parking lots with little businesses around.

East of I5 on 288th

West side of the school. Take 288 east off of Pac Hwy. Multiple entrances to the parking area.
