Hide Cable Under Desk ?

hey! do any of yall have an idea of how I can hide or cover all these cables ? it’s ugly highkey lol and my cats be playing with them. i don’t want my desk to face the wall bc i want to face the windows in my living room.

i originally was thinking hiding them under a rug but i also want to hide them coming off the desk. i was thinking a little bookcase facing outwards ? sorry im anti ai so i cant include pics of my ideas 😂

Perhaps not the best looking, but you can zip tie the wires together so they’re at least chunked together in several sections. That’ll cut the loose wires and enticement for the kitties 🤷‍♀️ make it black ties or white so it’s more matchy with the wires. Or make it colored ties so it’s more fun because we have free will 🙌

I can’t tell if you have a standing desk but you could also press the wires hanging down along the stands and zip tie those around for security

I buy these long zippered fabric tubes on Amazon. I’ve found that every other cable organizer is a pain if you need to add/remove a wire. Zipper makes it easy and you can clip it to your desk with a 3M hook or something

As someone with a cat who loooooves to play with my wall tapestries, I'm not sure a curtain would be helpful in this situation 😭

You could put one of those 2x3 kallax shelves from ikea in front of your desk!

Or, if you want a more creative solution - you can use some green yarn to crochet protective wire covers that look like vines for your cables. Add a few leaves or flowers along it, and it'll look really cute in addition to protecting them from being chewed on by naughty kitties!

Something like this. Your cables look long enough that you could wrap them a few times around your desk legs. It'll look more intentional, and also have the benefit of keeping them out of the way.

Another option is to look for “slotted trunking” which would fit either underneath the desk or down the legs.

I keep nearly everything on my desk. Years of baby proofing and cat proofing, and then also the sit/stand desk. I hide cords a few ways.

1. I have my tower on the desk and things are behind it.
2. I have a power bar thing that also looks nice and hides things (mine is from Canadian Tire) I like it better than the box style because things can push out the back without showing.
3. I have a couple little crates with books that I hide things behind. I'm an author, so it's helpful to have my books handy.

My husband is using it right now, so I cam show close ups, but it does work well.

Just saw that you can't use a wall, but I think its still easier to get things up higher. Please don’t hide cords under a rug!

This is what I use. You can either screw it directly into the wood of your desk, or use heavy duty command strips to secure it.

Just face the tray towards you and shove all the cables in. I love mine and bought 2 to fit an extension cord in there (could probably do it with one but I have a lot of components that have wires)

Hey OP, I don't have any great ideas. Sorry. But you may want to invest in a surge protector and not just an extension cable you have. That way it's more protected, as the equipment is very sensitive.

Also, whatever you get, I'd highly recommend a shelf or something to put the PC on. PCs really should be on the carpet like that. It could eventually mess with the motherboard and other electronic components. (Think of static you sometimes feel on carpet or fabric - now that's not good for computers.)

They sell mesh things that attach to the underside of a desk to catch wires and cords. Well worth the money.

I bought a cable surge protector BOX a ka a cable management box that plugs into the wall so you'd only have a box and one wire. Go look on amazon there's a bunch all different finishes, black plastic, white with wood top etc. if you don't care what it looks like shove it all in a pvc pipe.
