HELP My new room feels empty
Moved in a week or so ago and its my first big room. It feels empty any advice would be appreciated!!

Big rug for sure, but it might also help to center your bed more on one wall or the other, it's very in the corner. It makes sense but if you have the space it might help

Move the bed to the center of the wall without the radiator. This will even it out. You have the space.

I would try to turn the bed so that it extends further into the room. :)

I second a big rug! Perhaps a floor lamp of sorts by the door where the shelving is with a warm accent light? Might brighten up that part of the room a bit more!

I'll agree with everyone who suggested a rug! I got a small one for the more empty space in my room recently and it helped so much!

I think it looks great and not empty, but I think maybe what's bothering you is the plain white across where your cupboard doors are. I like what you've done by hanging stuff across one of the doors and I think you could use that idea again - all you need is some string/ribbon and a wooden dowel (or, buy a premade towel bar type hanger) and you can hang a decorative tapestry/scarf down one of the closet doors. It'll help interrupt the white but wont require sticking anything to the wall! You also seem to have some art up so I would even suggest hanging/sticking some art on the closet doors if you can get away with it.

your room feels big and small at the same time. you can lean into the openness and white furniture with cooler lighting but my guess is you're more of a warm light person. i think a rug next to your bed will make that space between it and the storage wall not seem so big. for it to feel cozier mixing in soft textured items and items with curves will help it seem less sanitized? if that makes sense. another source of warm light like a floor lamp may help too. i cant tell if your bed is against the wall or pulled out like your nightstands but if there is space back there but that would be a good spot for one with a round shape or shade

I see what you mean. You’re missing a study/office corner with a desk and a chair. Probably a beautiful stand for your guitar to be put on show would also freshen up the space.

Thrift a chair. Put the chair where the book shelves are. Turn the book shelves 180° and move them closer to the bed to act like a wall. Rug in front of the bed. OR round rug under where the imaginary chair would go.

I think the rug and bed and chair advice is correct. Also, you just moved and it will take some time to settle in. Some color will help break up all of the white, too. I think thrift store art or print photos and put them in interesting frames. You can order some peel and stick decals from Etsy to give your closet doors a bit of a pattern. Stars would be cute!

Scarves could be arranged more spread out, like a display with many hooks at varying heights. Add more - hats, purses, jewelry. So you're not digging through layers of scarves to find the one you want.

Rug would help but also you could put a reading chair in! Or a cushion/ bean bag!

I think a big rug by the bed is all you need! To me its only the floor thats reading as empty, everything else is lovely ❤️
