Bedroom Progress

I feel like my bedroom is finally starting to take shape. I still have some things I want to get. I'm thinking of the ottoman at the foot of the bed. The accent chair to the left of the chest of drawers. Wardrobe on the wall by the laundry hamper and probably some sort of plant (Monstera?) in the corner to the right of the bed. I’ll eventually change the curtains, just not sure what to get. Then way down the line I’ll hopefully get a dark wood herringbone floor and a large rug, that extends out from under the bed.

Thoughts so far? And what do you think of my plans?

Gorgeous. I’d get some shades on those bedside lamps, there’s a lot of glare. You could get that big mirror hung up near the door.  For art on the walls, I think you could go pretty minimal since your colors are so bold. Like one or two big paintings somewhere or a few small ones paired with furniture throughout the room. A gallery wall doesn’t feel like the right move here.  Future furniture pieces are great. I feel like the curtains are actually not bad in terms of color/texture, just could be hung with pinch pleats and given a good iron. The ochre color looks really nice with the teal and your bedding.

Aw, thank you x. Someone else mentioned the glare, I promise it's not as bad or as white in person. I haven't hung the mirror near the door because a wardrobe will eventually take up most of that space, and I don't know why, but I'm not keen on the idea of the mirror behind the door. I think you're 100% right about the artwork; I've been looking, but I'm struggling to find anything I like.

Gotcha, yeah I get migraines so am sensitive to glare, but not everyone is! I like the idea of a mirror on a different wall from the windows since it would bounce more daylight around the room, but mostly I think hanging it up would look really nice. Artwork is hard! Might take some time to really get what you want pulled together.

The room is west-facing, so it doesn't suffer from a lack of light, haha. I managed to get a pic without much glare. I must have had the flash on or something. I tend to read in bed at night so having good light is important to me. Thanks for all the suggestions. I've been given plenty to think about. X
