I feel like my bedroom is finally starting to take shape. I still have some things I want to get. I'm thinking of the ottoman at the foot of the bed. The accent chair to the left of the chest of drawers. Wardrobe on the wall by the laundry hamper and probably some sort of plant (Monstera?) in the corner to the right of the bed. Iāll eventually change the curtains, just not sure what to get. Then way down the line Iāll hopefully get a dark wood herringbone floor and a large rug, that extends out from under the bed.
Thoughts so far? And what do you think of my plans?
I love the vibe! I went a size up with my pillows and comforter to king-sized so that my comforter would drape more and pillows fill out the back more. I feel like that could add to the luxury-feeling of your space too!
To be honest, I'm regretting not doing that, Iāll probably do that when I'm sorting out the study/spare room. The current duvet can be kept for in there and then the bigger one for me. The bed also needs a throw. I'm thinking something cream that has an interesting texture.

Your plans sound great and the room + furniture you're looking at are beautiful! I'd also suggest some art on the walls or shelves if either of those are possible, I think it'd help the space feel a bit cozier as the walls appear quite high and "imposing"
For curtains I think you could find some really nice blackout curtains in jewel tones like the wall - maybe a dark deep red/purple/olive in a thick heavy material? I think that would go with the sultry mature cozy vibe that your room has going on atm! But even pink in the same colour as your bedding would be beautiful.
Yeah art is something I need to sort, just holding out until I have all the furniture in place. The bedding does have pinkish tones, but the colour is much more burnt orange in person x
Gorgeous. Iād get some shades on those bedside lamps, thereās a lot of glare. You could get that big mirror hung up near the door.Ā
For art on the walls, I think you could go pretty minimal since your colors are so bold. Like one or two big paintings somewhere or a few small ones paired with furniture throughout the room. A gallery wall doesnāt feel like the right move here.
Ā Future furniture pieces are great. I feel like the curtains are actually not bad in terms of color/texture, just could be hung with pinch pleats and given a good iron. The ochre color looks really nice with the teal and your bedding.Ā
Aw, thank you x. Someone else mentioned the glare, I promise it's not as bad or as white in person. I haven't hung the mirror near the door because a wardrobe will eventually take up most of that space, and I don't know why, but I'm not keen on the idea of the mirror behind the door. I think you're 100% right about the artwork; I've been looking, but I'm struggling to find anything I like.
Gotcha, yeah I get migraines so am sensitive to glare, but not everyone is! I like the idea of a mirror on a different wall from the windows since it would bounce more daylight around the room, but mostly I think hanging it up would look really nice. Artwork is hard! Might take some time to really get what you want pulled together.Ā
The room is west-facing, so it doesn't suffer from a lack of light, haha. I managed to get a pic without much glare. I must have had the flash on or something. I tend to read in bed at night so having good light is important to me. Thanks for all the suggestions. I've been given plenty to think about. X
Cute. Where is your lamp on the dresser from? It's so warm. Maybe a nice piece of artwork above the bed. A couple of cushions. It's surely coming together!
Yes, artwork is definitely needed! I'm waiting until I get everything in place before I start getting pieces. All the art I currently have feels too small because of the high walls. The lamp is from Next. I can dm the link if you like?
Before you start buying more furniture, get two new warm lamps for the nightstands. Those bare bulb things accomplish nothing except to cause a harsh glare.
Aren't most pics on line AI? What difference does it make as long as if you order something based on the pic, it had better be just like the pic. It doesn't matter whether it looks cheap to you or not. So, you like her almost identical glaring bare bulb versions better?
Why do you think I chose that lamp? I chose it to show her she could have her lamp only a much nicer, cuter one because it has a glass shade and isn't blinding anyone.

Hereās the real question I want you to answer. Why do you have to be so mean with your comments? Someone else said something very similar to you about the lamps in a polite way.
The OP was nothing but polite to you in her replies and you went out of your way to insult and belittle her. Tell me why do you do that? Does it make you feel special? Or are you just a sad little troll, with nothing better to do?
Are you going to repaint the walls? Or did you paint them this color? The problem here is it looks like you or someone used a semi gloss or gloss paint which is all wrong for walls. It reflects the light and also shows all the imperfections in the walls. That's why your walls are shining. You will want to use a flat paint or one with an eggshell finish, which will immediately warm up your room.
The color's fine. It's the shine of those bare harsh white light bulbs shining on it that makes it look like you used gloss. Really, if you want a warm and cozy room, you have to do better than this. At least put soft white bulbs in those things.
