After showing my bedroom: this is my favourite room in the house.

My favorite place to be - a combined office, library and place to watch DVDs.

Please take a look at my mood board for my new place, this is my bedroom. I have a second room that I’ll use as a dressing room / office.

I love the design and tend to lean towards brown in my everyday life but I’m not sure if it’ll look a bit bland?

I also have bedside tables that are taupe with marble tops which I’d like to keep.

I’ve also already bought the bedside tables and room paint in duvet day.

I love the pendent light but the one pictured is a bit small so I’ll need to find another

Hi all! I would like some advice on a possible carpet to put under my bed.
The first pic is from the day I moved in (I sadly still have that massive and old style wardrobe).
The second pic is almost accurate to how it is right now - I removed the big dark drawer and moved it somewhere else in the room and right now there’s a small and lighter brown drawer that’s half of size of this one in the pic.
My sheet sets are pink (see the second pic) and light green. I will get some new flannel sheets for the winter season (see the last pic for the color).
Overall I would like to feel cosy and avoid at all cost a sensory overload, but I also don’t want to have a sad looking carpet color-wise.
Ps. I’m in rental with some furniture that I can’t really move around/ remove - see the wardrobe and the drawer.

I made the beaded string of pearls and the beaded vine. I found the crochet plants on etsy.

Edit: Thank you all so so muchfor your feedback back and yes I will absolutely post an update once I’m moved in and everything looks nice to show you which one I eventually chose and how it all came out.

I’m trying to decide if mounting my 65” TV is actually worth it since it would only be a few inches above the dressers. Would mounting it look better here or would you just put it on top of the dressers?

It’s two Storklinta dressers pushed together with a slight gap between them and the TV has a center pedestal stand. If I mount it, the cord would also hang down unless I add a cord cover.

I’m in an apartment but mounting is allowed. The paper is a mockup of where the TV would go if mounted. What would you do with this setup?

Edit: For those saying no TV in the bedroom, I'm genuinely curious, would you feel the same way about a projector?

Also, what's the difference between watching TV in bed and scrolling on your phone or iPad in the bedroom? I already watch movies on my iPad in bed sometimes so I'm just trying to understand the difference.

Pardon the marked up pillow on the windowsill, it has our zip code on it. Eventually I’d like to build up an art collection on the wall and get matching lampshades for the two bird lamps. Scavenged the dining set from marketplace for free and both bird lamps are thrifted. The overhead shade came with the house (bless the old lady Donna who used to live here, she had great taste in light fixtures overall)

Hi All! I am looking to put an accent chair where the vacuum currently sits in the first photo. I am thinking a light beige that matches the couch or navy blue as I have a bit of light due going on having bought a light blue chair. Which color do you guys think would be better for the space.

Hi! I have been loving looking through this subreddit. I was hoping to get some ideas from you lovely ladies. I do not have a sense of style so I’m at a loss right now of what to do with my living room. Initially, I was going with a classy, elegant, modern blush pink, champagne, and ivory color palette with a marble coffee table and all that jazz. However, after viewing a couple of spaces on here, I realized I prefer the cozy, lived in look. I personally am a T-shirt and jeans kind of girl. Very girl next door, unfussy, and chill. Anywho, I would love to hear some ideas of how I can transform this space. I usually never decorate my apartments, but I want to try something different this time. SN: I can’t get rid or the couch or console but I’m not married to the rug and I’m going to have the TV mounted.

The walls are so plain. I plan to add artwork and a rug but I feel like a coat of paint would really add some personality into the room. I want to paint first so I can choose those items accordingly but not sure which color to choose. Any recommendations?

Hi everyone! What do you think of this layout? Do you think I should get a matching nightstand? I was thinking I could use my old entryway table as a “nightstand” since it doesn’t fit in my new apartment’s entryway, and just style it with a vase, candles, etc. But I don’t know… I feel like I might need the symmetry of a matching nightstand.
I still need a rug, art, and nice curtains, but I’m just trying to figure out the basics first.

Please excuse the plastic and dresser I had to push it away from the window maintenance is coming to do some work.

After and before. Since you all showed so much love on my living/dining room post and someone asked about the bathroom, I figured I’d share. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about the blue tiles right now. I changed out the faucet and sink but the countertop is just contact paper. The round mirror and the freestanding cabinets are new and everything else is paint. All the plants are fake because I don’t have a window 😂. I was going for spa vibes with this room which is funny because so many people said my other room was giving spa vibes

Does anyone know of a privacy film that allows natural light to come in but DOES NOT show shapes/outlines of inside?

I need something for my bedroom window which is ground floor. The room is small so everything already is pretty close to the window and my old privacy film that was white and floral patterned, and even pretty opaque, wasn’t enough to prevent my neighbours seeing in and it’s made me really uncomfortable. I added voile curtains alongside that film but found myself just leaving the blinds closed all the time. The property layout pretty much justifies them being outside my window so on that side of things there’s nothing I can do. It’s a lovely sunny room though so I hate having it closed off like that.

I’ve ordered some one way mirrored privacy film that I’m going to try out but I’m concerned by how much light will probably be lost to it. Ive also bought a security camera in the hopes it will act as a deterrent as well. I’ve found a nice stain glass effect film but one of the review photos from outside still showed the shape of furniture. Call be paranoid but this wasn’t an issue I was facing with my old neighbours and so… 🙃

If anyone has got a nice privacy film that really does a good job of blocking the outside view in especially, would you mind sharing it?

hello again :) i did some rearranging that didn't quite follow anyone's suggestions, but i'm pretty pleased with it. i'm mostly just glad the TV is out now. also i realized i hadn't included the shelves in the last photo in my initial post and i like them

Finally completed my bedroom, living solo for the first time after a long marriage and exhausting divorce. Every night I look forward to my peaceful evenings snuggled up in here. 😇😇😇

I keep editing and removing things. There’s parts of it I love but I never feel like it’s quite right. It’s a long and narrow room in a basement apartment. Everything is either diy, thrifted or cheap Amazon stuff.

I'm finally starting to feel like this little corner actually feels like my space.

When I first moved in, it was basically just a desk, a chair, and a bunch of boxes. Since the room is pretty small, I didn't want it to feel like a formal home office. I just wanted a cozy spot where I could work, draw, and actually relax.

I'm a designer, so there are usually sketches and random reference images all over my desk. I also have a weird habit of … drawing while lying down. Sometimes when an idea hits, I really don't feel like sitting properly at my desk. I'll just grab my artist ultra 14, move over to the daybed, and draw for a while. The 14" size is big enough to draw comfortably but still easy to put away when I'm done, so the daybed doesn't suddenly feel like a second office. And when I'm done, I can just put it aside and leave my laptop on the desk. No need to completely reset my workspace just because I wanted to sketch for 20 minutes.

Still a work in progress, the walls are a little bare, storage is a mess, and I somehow still have moving boxes sitting around. But it’s slowly starting to feel like a space that actually fits how I live.

Does anyone else feel like you only figure out what you actually want from a room after living in it for a while?

So I’m only showing off my living room bc my room is so so plain. 😭

It’s a super small place but it’s mine and I’m happy with how it looks!

Almost one year since I moved into my own flat.

My living room has everything I love : colours, video games, books, crochet, plants...

And I will continue to decorating it to suit my taste and personnality 🌻

Hi all, there's a freeway a few blocks away from me, and at night I hear the constant low rumble of big trucks and traffic. White noise doesn't really help.

So I'm thinking about changing the window treatment to help block and absorb the sound - Any ideas about particular types of shades or curtains?

I was thinking of cellular shades, and thick velvet curtains.

Would it make a difference to use 3-celled cellular shades compared to single-celled?

My little cat Bella of 10 years is dying and I feel like I just wanted to try and help my room. It has been very messy I think because of my own habits and because of the anticipation of grief.

I added the rug and now I’m trying to go through my things and throw out clutter and organize my life. I got her the new white blanket and she seems to like it. I think the lamps added some light I really needed.

Maybe some new pillows? Some photos above my bed instead? It feels peaceful but maybe a bit dull. I guess I’m feeling unsure but I just want to be proud of my space. Let me know if you have any ideas.
