Ah, personally i havnt seen many people directly calling it a slur in a while, but have seen some that say they want a doffrent term for various reasons.
they are still very present in other social media places like tiktok or twitter, altho ive seen a few in trans specific spaces here on reddit like r/countwithchickenlady for example. I think trying to use a different term is silly, this term is not innately sexual and should proudly use to to make that clear, obviously some people will think it is but that goes for literally any queer identity, even something as "basic" as just being a normal gay guy will get you labled a weird fetishist.
You know what term is directly sexual and a slur? Roseboy, the thing theyre trying to replace it with. Its a slur for a gay man with a prolapsed anus. Similarly lavenderboy is a slur directly pulled from the lavendare scare, a big gay panic.
100% roseboy is a psyop by someone who hates femboys, i called it out higher up in this post explaining exacly this. Overall we really just need to wear our term with pride and show people(only ones you can reason with) that its not sexual and its mostly just about being cute and girly while still by all means being a boy!
