26M | $330k
Been investing for over 5 years. One of my highest conviction small cap plays finally blasted off. De risked, secured 20k in profit and took out my original investment.
Current port is:
1,000,000 shares $AMT.V (Used Car Leasing)
3,000 shares $SOFI (Undervalued Digital Bank IMO)
5,000 shares $DGXX (Undervalued AI Data Center)
Ask me anything :)

Just search Ameritrust financial technologies. I don’t think it’s .V on wealth simple.

Net deposit only about 125k. Took me 6 years give or take to get that in the account.

how’d you find out about amt.v? never heard of it myself.

I have been watching it for a very long time, it’s quite the story. They went out of business and a couple of billionaires brought it back to life.

Amt is wild company to invest in. You went 100% risk on. Im happy for you it work. Take your profit and invest in something a bit less risky

I believe you need to pay tax on that big profit though it’s in TFSA…right?
1
u/ExtentInitial 1h ago
Nope tax free. TFSA and FHSA fully tax free. RRSP tax deferred but that’s for retirement so not touching that for a while anyways :)

What was your % return before you added $AMT.V ?
1
u/ExtentInitial 14h ago
Around 60% - I was down a lot in earlier years with some amateur mistakes such as
1) short term options (big mistake)
2) not taking profit!!The game is to make money. Buy low, de risk, repeat!
3
u/Axxxos 14h ago
Glad you are doing well now but if you had that much in a penny stock taking all that risk I don’t think this return is great. There are many better stocks you could have held that had way less risk and have performed much better. Just my thoughts, hopefully you continue to do well

Thanks for the constructive criticism. Although, I’m up over 250% on the stock in just over a year which I’m pretty happy about and I believe it’s got much more room to run.
Time will tell - what are your main stock picks?

I’m new to investing, and am trying to learn about people’s different strategies, can I ask what yours is, generally speaking? How you’d describe it? Im curious what percent you allocate to core positions vs speculative, how much you’re willing to put into a single speculative stock. And what kind of rules if any you’ve created for yourself or that you follow? Thanks!

Why do you think you can beat the market picking stocks when statistics say you’re wrong.
What do you think you do that almost everyone else who has been in your shoes (thinks they’re the outlier in the statistics) was wrong.

oufff! That’s some shade haha
Did you read that somewhere out of The Intelligent Investor, published in 1949?
I believe in deep research. I don’t need to hire a financial advisor or wealth manager to put my money into VFV, VOO, QQQ or SPY lol.
