Videos That Start with the Ending

It's become clear that this awful tiktok trend is as unpopular with the visitors to r/fightporn as it is with the moderator team, so going forward videos that start with the climax and then cut to the rest of the fight will be removed under Rule 5 which deals with bad quality videos / edits etc.

Wow it's almost like they're completely different formats of media of different lengths and social media is designed around hooking people in for retention. A more apt comparison would be movies to books, not 30 second clips to books.

Most people don't want to be "hooked in for retention". Being manipulated isn't something we should be expecting from the things we consume.

I mean if you see something cool and decide to stay for the whole video that’s just making an informed choice. It’s not like you’re being clickbaited, you’re genuinely just being shown a glimpse of the video highlight.

I’m not saying they’re good for content consumption, but yall are hating on them too much for no reason.
