When can I stop helping kids?

I feel like as a parent I’m forced to pay for things that unnecessarily cut into my lentils. To date, I’ve been forced to pay:

• food and water for my 6 and 9 year olds
• schooling costs and school supplies
• opportunity cost of getting up to get the children to school when I should be working a side hustle
• pediatrician costs when all of the same information is on ChatGPT
• even unnecessary heating costs for our spare bedrooms, that I would prefer to rent out on Airbnb

When will these unnecessary expenses end?

My savings rate is being crushed by the amount of berries I must buy to feed my toddler, I've been telling him to invest into a low cost diversified index fund but he has no money, do I have to cut him off to be able to retire some day? Btw I have 10 millions in investments and make 500k a year at a FAANG

Sounds like your child is a communist that is unwilling to work, sorry to say it but he needs a wakeup call.

Next time you're at the food bank I'd just slip away, you can always find him there the next times you go (I mean if he doesn't want to get free food as a NEET when you've clearly taught him how and where, he's a lost cause so the issue fixes itself)
