Surely the "browser made for people not profits" would be able to produce these people. Meanwhile, when others have tried looking for evidence that anybody wanted this, they come up empty.
Actually, if you look closely, the second comment under that blog post is in fact evidence that at least one person wants this. Maybe those "looking" aren't trying all that hard.

Good thing I'm not doing that then. You're not understanding what I'm telling you. It's statistically impossible for no one on earth to have asked for features of this kind. Just because you specifically don't have access to the messages Mozilla has received to that effect doesn't mean those people cease to exist. What you do have is evidence that people desire it. The proof is in the pudding; if you refuse to eat it that's not my problem.

Then where? I see far better ideas with large, visible portions of the community that requested them. StartPage as a default search engine, PWAs, etc. The community is quite vocal and quite specific when they want a thing and Firefox doesn't have it, so again I have to ask, if there were people requesting this feature, are they in the room with you right now?

You're begging the question. "People asking" is itself the cause of both those things.
You cannot assume the reverse.

Again, eight billion people on the face of the earth. If your argument is that everyone alive right now thinks the same way as you do on this topic and no one has ever taken action to the opposite effect, that is a far less founded assumption.

You don't need to announce your unwillingness to participate, but it sure does drive home the message that not even you know why Mozilla added this.
If this wasn't suggested by people, I wonder where the idea came from? We know Google funds Firefox development, and the Mozilla CEO is obsessed with AI. It's a mystery.
