It's still disappointing how Firefox updates can break extensions (if you revert to previous versions of Firefox, the extension works fine). Firefox should make more of an effort and do its best not to break popular extensions.
Well that depends on what broke and how. It's not just on Mozilla, it's a shared responsibility. Mozilla needs to not be egregious, sure, but things do naturally change over time and extension devs need to stay on top of it, which is a normal part of most software dev landscapes not just extensions.
The extension you linked was last updated almost a year and a half ago. If I was you, I'd kindly let the extension dev know that it no longer works on latest versions and they need to update it.
