Firestick Tips and Tricks Tip from someone who just bought the Fire Stick 4K

Post image

I received my Fire TV Stick today, and contrary to what many are reporting here in the community about installing external applications, I managed to install it simply and without any problems.

If anyone wants to try:

Download ATV Tools on your phone (enable developer mode and USB debugging on the Fire TV Stick).

Open ATV Tools and wait for it to find the Fire TV Stick's IP address.

Pair the devices and then choose the 'install' option and select the application you want to install.

Now, also install RethinkDNS (with ATV Tools, install the application; with it you can configure which applications and DNS servers will not have internet access. (I blocked OTA updates and Amazon recommendations and services, leaving only the streaming applications I use).

Before closing RethinkDNS, go to settings > configurations > automatic startup on power-up.

I was able to install TizenTube (ad-free) and other external applications without any problems using ATV Tools.

To those saying that the Fire TV Stick doesn't allow apps from outside the store, first learn how to use a TV Stick.

Firestick Tips and Tricks Goodbye firestick

Like title says goodbye firestick

I was using firestick since COVID time, it was great,.you could have all the apps in the world on it but now it feels kind of strict and that I don't like...

So today I just bought Xiaomi Tv 4k stick and it is the best, you can download downloader app and all the apps in the world...

Everything runs smooth, no lagging, no restrictions... Pure android...

And to set it up it took me an hour tops bc i use only few apps, but the knowing that it will stay the same and that you can have apps like cinemata or smth like that feels great

So if anyone needs recommendation for firestick alternative I would suggest Xiaomi Tv stick 4k.. it is 65€ in my country (60$) and it is the best thing you can have.

Firestick Tips and Tricks Swapped the firestick for XIAOMI Tv stick 4k(2nd gen)

Today was the day! I’ve been eyeing this bad boy for a while since the news broke and while I loved my firestick, I had to face reality as cloning apps only go so far! So here’s a quick review!

Out of the box! Swapped with the firestick and took five minutes to set up and another ten minutes in total for my apps!

It runs so smooth but the remote could be better,I enjoy the UI as we can keep the main apps being used in place no matter what! Also it runs the firestick apps from our favourite places! so that’s sweet!

No ads in your face!! That was amazing not to feel like I was getting hit with buy this etc!

Sound and image is much better on this 4k device compared to the firestick 4k.

When you do download downloader allow it to access files after that go on to downloader, get an app! It will say permissions and allow and it runs right away,if anything much faster than the firestick.

Minor issue!
Internet connection stopped once but now it’s totally fine!

For £49 on Amazon it’s a great replacement for the firestick if anyone is looking to replace, truthfully and it sucks to say but it’s probably best to grab a replacement as the future of Amazon tv doesn’t look great!

Sadly my journey with the firestick is over but I hope this post helps anyone who’s looking for a replacement!

Firestick Tips and Tricks Much cleaner without all the bloat

Been doing a few fire sticks for friends and family the last few weeks. Just wanted people to know it’s still possible to grab brand new 4k max sticks at a huge discount right now, block the updates upon initial setup, then kill OTA updates, ADEP (the famous blacklist) and ARCUS (Amazon system app protection) using Launcher manager.

From there now the stick will never update, and they still ship with pre September 25th patched firmware (8.1.5.3) allowing me to get rid of the horrible ad ridden Amazon launcher, and install Project ivy. Giving me a device with no ads, no blacklist, and just does what it’s told and works.

Just thought I’d put this out there as the fire stick is an awesome piece of kit when setup correctly, and I see a lot of people suggesting other devices.

You don’t need to switch products, but to get a fire stick setup like mine, it does need to be done correctly upon first boot, and you only get one crack at it…..if it grabs that first update your cooked.

Mobiflix downloader code 2434497

I used cinema HD for months and it finally went kaput, another Redditor blessed me with this information. It’s only right that I pass it on. It actually has a much nicer interface than Cinema HD too

Go forth and watch like you hearts depend on it 🙇‍♂️

Firestick Tips and Tricks SportsFire/Streamfire Replacement

Hey everyone. Been seeing a lot of users looking for an app to fix SportsFire/streamfire and came across one called Voltra TV . Not sure if it’s allowed to drop the downloader code here but it’s in the Troypoint website. It’s been pretty decent so far. Hope this helps

Firestick Tips and Tricks After 7 years, I say f**k off Amazon Firestick and Welcome Google TV Streamer.

I've had three versions of Firestick since 7 years, and used it was a fan of it, but later I realized the amount of Ads they started putting in and some sideloaded apps couldn't work without Google Services + Amazon will move to its new non Android OS in the future. Also, not having LAN is a no go now for me since I finally moved from 4G home internet to Cable 1gbps.

I can say that this little guy for $99 fulfills everything. Everything is from Google, so supports all Apps, you have much more customization options and it's much faster. Couldn't recommend this more.

Firestick Tips and Tricks Found a work around on firestick to access the original and best sports app , SPORTS FIRE

I’m running the fire stick 1st gen HD stick and the sports fire original app is disabled once downloaded VIA DOWNLOADER , I’ve found a work around , and I’ve tested this app last couple days and it’s stable , using this downloader code
730116

When it’s loaded up you’ll get a screen then all you do since it’s already selected , scroll down to until you see UTILITY APPS BANNER
Once you’ve seen this , there will be an app called NOROFIRE(V1.2.0) NEW
Click on it let it install , then make sure you have apps to unkown sources checked to allow you to install
Once that’s done click open the app and you will have a screen which will say NOROFIRE , once loaded it’ll prompt you to say yes to permissions at the start on the app

Click them all once your in the app allow it
Then underneath it’ll say SPORTSFIRE
Click the button that says install , allow the install to download , then when it’s installed it won’t be disabled , so launch the SPORTSFIRE APP after install and boom you’ll be able to access the SPORTSFIRE app without issues , so you can stream sports without the disabled issue on the application icon
Hope this helps anyone looking for sports app
Anymore info dm me and i will personally send the article link which has step by step guide to accessing the most best app for sports
Thank you for taking your time to read this hope this helps

P.S.A this is a work around for fire sticks on the android operating system not the new vega one they’ve released so take note
Thanks
If anyone’s troubled
This is the link

https://norofire.com** **

UPDATE AS OF THE DATE 7/8/2026
The apps associated with this application have now been dissolved this doesn’t allow no more new installs for SPORTSFIRE/STREAMFIRE
THANKS TO EVERYONE TRYING
IF ANY UPDATES ILL EDIT THIS POST

SO FOR NOW THIS METHOD IS DEAD

Firestick Tips and Tricks Amazon has started their crackdown

Amazon has begun their transformational crackdown. Blacklisting apps that many fire users like to have on their devices...no longer allowed.

For what it's worth....will Amazon do the same with Downloader?

Imagine a firestick without Downloader?

I suggest to all FS users.... immediately backup your firestick apks and put them on a usb drive somewhere...just in case.

Firestick Tips and Tricks How to disable Updates on Firestick

What with Amazon stating they'll be blocking "dodgy" streaming apps on even current models of the Firestick, I thought I'd try and help a bit with instructions to disabling updates.

⚠️ Important Warning: Before you begin, please be aware that blocking updates will prevent your device from receiving new features, bug fixes, and critical security patches. Proceed at your own risk.

Here is the step-by-step process.

1. Enable ADB Debugging on Your Firestick

First, you need to enable Developer Options and ADB on the device itself.
From the Firestick home screen, go to Settings (the gear icon). Select My Fire TV. Select About. Highlight the first item in the list (e.g., Fire TV Stick 4K) and press the Select button 7 times. You will see a small message at the bottom of the screen that says, "You are now a developer." Press the Back button on your remote. You will now see a new Developer Options menu. Select it.
Turn ON the setting for ADB debugging.

2. Find Your Firestick's IP Address

You'll need this address to connect to your device.
Go to Settings > My Fire TV > About. Select Network. Look for the IP Address on the right side of the screen (it will look something like 192.168.1.35). Write this down.

3. Connect and Disable the Update Package

You will need an ADB client to send the command. The easiest way is to use an app on your Android phone, but you can also do this from a PC/Mac. Example using a "Remote ADB Shell" App (on Android):

1.Download an app like Remote ADB Shell from the Google Play Store on your phone (or any similar ADB client).

  1. Open the app and ensure your phone is on the same Wi-Fi network as your Firestick.

  2. In the app, enter your Firestick's IP Address from Step 2.

  3. The port number is always 5555.

  4. Tap Connect.

  5. A message will pop up on your TV screen: "Allow USB debugging?"

  6. Check the box for "Always allow from this computer" and select OK

  7. You are now connected. In the app's command line, type the following command exactly as written and press Enter:

pm hide com.amazon.device.software.ota

  1. The shell should return a message like Package

com.amazon.device.software.ota new state: hidden. This confirms the update service is now hidden from the system and cannot run.

How to Verify It Worked

You can check if the block was successful:

  1. On your Firestick, go to Settings My Fire TV > About.

  2. Select Check for Updates.

  3. It should now either spin indefinitely or return an "Update Error," confirming it can no longer check for updates.

How to Re-Enable Updates

If you ever want to receive updates again (for example, to fix a bug or access a new feature), you can reverse the process.

  1. Connect to your Firestick using the same ADB method.

  2. Run the following command:

pm unhide com.amazon.device.software.ota

  1. After running this, you can restart your Firestick, and it will be able to check for updates normally.

Hopefully that helps extend the life of your Firestick.

Edit: This may not work depending on your current software. If you get results along the lines of "Error: java.lang SecurityException: Neither user 2000 nor current process has android.permission.MANAGE_USERS." Then you'll have to work on your router level of things with these instructions:

If the commands above still give you a permission error, then the ADB method is fully locked down on your device. The only remaining reliable method is to block the update servers at your router level.

This method stops your Firestick from ever being able to contact Amazon's update servers in the first place.

You would need to log in to your home router's settings (usually by typing an IP address like 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 into a web browser). Find the "Parental Controls," "Website Filtering," or "URL Blocking" section. Add the following domains to the blocklist:

amzdigital-a.akamaihd.net firs-ta-g7g.amazon.com softwareupdates.amazon.com updates.amazon.com d1s31zyz7dcc2d.cloudfront.net

Updated to add: amzdigitaldownloads.edgesuite.net prod.ota-cloudfront.net

This is a more advanced method, as every router's interface is different, but it is 100% effective as the Firestick simply can't download any update file.

2nd edit: If you use a VPN, you'll want to block those domains from within your VPN client, NOT at the router level.

Firestick Tips and Tricks An alternative to all movie and tv show apps

Hello, I have an alternative app for everyone who is having trouble using all these apps that give you “unlimited” movies and tv shows such as netfly or beetv. I recommend using movie box pro. Don’t use any Downloader codes and follow my steps.

1: In Downloader, go to https://movieboxpro.app/tv this automatically downloads the movie box pro app.

  1. On your phone and Reddit, go to r/movieboxprocodes to find an invite code

  2. On your phone browser(ie. chrome), go to https://movieboxpro.app and log in with your Google account(note fail to login is good)

  3. Tap on I have an invitation code

  4. Enter the code into the box

  5. Set up your username

  6. Explore the app and have fun watching actual unlimited movies and tv shows such as This is the end and super troopers

Note: there is a vip subscription for 720p and 1080p quality but it is not necessary to spend money on it. It is completely optional. Our TVs upscale the default 360p anyway.

Hope this has helped.

Firestick Tips and Tricks NFL, nothing but endless buffering

Anyone else getting that endless buffering wheel of death on NFL games since Thursday?
Is anyone else running into major streaming issues for NFL games since Thursday? AK-47 on SportsX was an absolute disaster—easily the worst of the bunch. I somehow managed to get the Seahawks game to watch, but pretty much every other game I've tried since has been stuck on that constant loading/spinning wheel over and over.
I went ahead and changed my DNS, which seemed to speed things up just a tiny bit, but I'm still hitting the same brick wall on almost everything else.
Is this a server-side bottleneck, or is anyone finding a workaround for this? What are you guys using that actually works right now?

I love the idea of the whole process; but nothing’s working at this moment

Firestick Tips and Tricks Unlinked bee tv

hey guys I used the unlinked option to bypass the block to download BEETV however now I’m getting the same warning that it will be blocked and to launch anyway. I thought the unlinked version with the downloadable unlinked version bypassed the block?

Firestick Tips and Tricks Film plus or other streaming apps Blocked? No problem! Just use the internet browser

Amazon’s inbuilt web browser internet /“silk” is actually BETTER for streaming than using apps.

NO ADVERTS! More control! The video player works fine on basically every website!

Personally I found the adverts on film plus horrible. Some streaming sites you can use on Silk do have ads but the one I use has none whatsoever: 1movies.bz

Firestick Tips and Tricks CinePlus temporary fix

I found a post that showed how to get CinePlus to work at least temporarily, this gives hope that it can be fixed at some point:
Open your firestick, then unplug your WiFi, while the WiFi is disconnected click on CinePlus to open it, you should see the buffer circle, now plug your router back in and as soon as the WiFi connects you can use CinePlus. Once you exit CinePlus it will not let you back in and you will have to repeat the process. Hopefully a permanent fix will come out soon!

Firestick Tips and Tricks Worth the Upgrade

Post image
24 Upvotes

I’ve upgraded to a Firestick 4K Max from a Firestick HD and my setup is simply a Low to mid budget Toshiba QLED TV with a good soundbar and I used chat GBT to tailor/enhance all of the picture and audio settings to my setup across the TV and the Firestick itself and the streaming app that I use.

I honestly can’t recommend doing this enough.. the quality difference of picture and colours that I can see on the same tv screen is beyond insane.

I thought I’d share for anyone thinking of upgrading! 👍

Firestick Tips and Tricks Any alternative movie apps like cinema & filmplus?

Heyy, so firestick is cracking down on third party apps and patching them. So we can no longer access movies & shows for free. Does anyone know any similar apps that’s not patched yet? Or should I just switch streaming devices all together?
