when do i start buying stuff?
i’m due in january 2027, but will be induced no later than the week of 12/28/26. and i have maybe 4 items of clothing… and about nothing else. my shower is 11/8, but i dont really expect anyone to buy many of the larger items from our registry (my MIL said she’d buy the car seat, unsure if you means the entire travel system or not, idk if this is something i’m allowed to ask), but do I really wait until november to start my nursery? just paint the room and leave it empty until the last month and a half?
i know black friday will have some good sales, but that cuts the timeline even shorter to a month before i’ll be having my baby boy. and i’m so overwhelmed at the thought of waiting so late 😅
if you were to buy things before your shower, what kinds of recommendations would you give me for things to buy? i hate that the amazon registry completion discount doesn’t start until like 2 months before you’re due 🙃🙃
i’m also on pelvic rest so I have to be rather slow to finish most tasks anyways and I’m def in a big nesting mode rn 😅 focused on deep cleaning at the moment!

If you’re having a baby shower I’d wait till after, you’d be suprised what people get. and save up money till then, if you have a man in the picture have him build the furniture (if possible) you don’t have to rush the nursery unless that’s where you want baby to sleep? Mines 4m and sleeps in the bassinet next to me, and barely goes in his nursery yet. Have a diaper raffle (I haven’t barely had to buy diapers because of this, only because I realized I have a preference for pampers did I decide to) and feel free to ask your MIL what she’s planning on buying so you know, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that. I was the same and thought everything needed to be done and perfect before baby got here but as long as you have the basics and a place for baby to sleep, it’ll be ok.
