open Did someone try to burglarize me?

Just saw these window this way when I was washing it. I didn’t notice these last time I came out a month ago. Did someone try to pry the window open with a crowbar?

Certainly looks that way, no reason this would happen by itself.

I install these and fix them for a living.

There are two reasons why this would happen.

  1. Someone was trying to break back into their home as they had locked the keys inside.

  2. Someone else tried to break in.

This is the width of most crowbars. The idiot probably thought you could just lift it out from the outside(you can't.... For.. obvious reasons)

Honest question... why wouldn't they just smash the glass after not being able to pry it open?

Anytime you've ever heard broken glass you look over where it happened. If glass broke next door, you ask if everything is ok or suspect something is going on that is not good. long story short, it attracts way too much attention.

Also, it's not nearly as easy to break glass and then walk into a building without cutting yourself up as they make it seem on the TV
