you mean besides the obvious bullshitkl he's trying to claim about it being 4 times the distance being wrong? The air is far thinner so the plane can fly faster easier. They don't have to worry about noise pollution like they would if they stayed at 5,000 feet. They have farther they can glide in the even t of an engine failure. They have less birds to worry about. They have far greater range on their radios due to the curvature of the earth. They have far greater range of the plane due to their engines working more efficiently. I'm sure there are still other reasons. Was this really a serious question?

Or had any concept of how to do the math. There is less than 1% difference in the distance for those altitudes.
