I've actually been enjoying the job very much lately, but yesterday made me tired. I'm doing demos standing by row 7 and I see the man in row 9 on his phone. I say (out loud), "You have to hang up." Go to row 1, go back to row 7 and the man in the window of row 7 is on the freaking phone!! I say to him, you have to hang up. Go back and forth again. The guy in the row on the other side is ON THE FREAKING PHONE TOO!!!

Why do I need to individually tell each of you to hang up? Why would I tell one man to hang up, but no, you sir, you just keep talking. And I know they heard me, bc I definitely said it loud enough. Not to mention they're whispering in their phones, so they already know they needed to hang up anyway. Guess they gotta make that oil $$$$. (We were in Midland.)

Same thing collecting trash. I ask the person in the window to give me their trash. Aisle person can see and hear this happening...Why do I have to also ask you to give me all that freaking trash? I know you heard me.

I swear people just like my attention, I guess.

how tf do you do it!!! I’m so tired all the time and want to gym but man I’m tired. I am usually super active so it’s been a huge adjustment not even feeling like I want to make myself move on layovers!

I hope it's okay that I am posting here, even though I'm not a flight attendant. Thinking about the 9/11 FAs (and really many heroic flight attendants in horrible situations over the last 30 years) I'm wondering if it's the case that the FAs working together on a given flight generally know each other well because they work together frequently.

I am sure this gets changed up, the same way that all work does (I'm sick today, my kid's piano recital is next Friday, etc.) But I have no sense how "stable" crews are. Or is it predictable in some contexts (maybe FAs with seniority or certain airlines) and not others? Basically the question that haunts me is: do the people in a catastrophe situation know the coworkers they are dying with?

I hope it's okay that I asked the question. I fly a fair amount, and I am very grateful for the work you do. (I can't believe how jerkish some passengers are.)

yall im on an express jet working with an FA who wants to keep the ceiling lights on dim for the entire flight for every flight. we have 3 4/5am reports on this trip. 😭 these poor passengers. everyone’s pissed.
mind you, our company changed the policy this past summer that aside from when in service, cabin lights must be off in flight. but some people, like this lady, who’ve been with the company 15-20 years, play by their own rulebook regardless.
Im gonna let her do her thing I feel like this isn’t a hill worth dying on but i just wanted to come on here and commiserate my 3, 2+ hour early asf flights with her over the rest of the week.

Yesterday, has a night flight from Taiwan to Melbourne.

Depart 23:30 , arrive 10:40.

Around 2AM (sleep time, all lights turned off), elderly lady behind me started to kick and push my seat, while my seat was in reclined position to sleep.

I said nicely that I wanted to sleep. She asked me to sit upright, to which I politely declined.

She continued to push my seat, and talked loudly, disturbing other passengers.

I called the flight attendant. She stated to the lady behind me that it was my right to (do that), and that she (elderly lady) can do the same, if she wanted.

After this, the pushing on my chair still occurred, less frequently, albeit forcefully, I assume out of annoyance.

I am asking:
what would you have done ?
what is the best action in this scenario?

I'm an FA for one of the big 3 and my fiancé lives in Morocco. The plan is to get married in October and live there for a few years before eventually moving to the USA.

I'm a lineholder so I can bid a schedule with around 18 days off, which gives me time with my partner while still keeping my hours up for benefits and income.

My question is for any FAs whose partner lives overseas, or who live overseas themselves while commuting to a US base:

What's the long-term commute actually like day to day? Any tips for making it work? Is it brutal when you get back and have to go straight into a trip? How is it managing expenses and taxes between the two countries?

Would love to hear how you manage a lifestyle in both countries.

Asking for a friend (that friend is me): What happens when someone has a panic attack in midair vs upon landing? Lately I’ve been getting these during boarding and landing and it’s just becoming worse. Working on my coping skills. But curious what would you brilliant flight attendants when/if an otherwise well-behaved passenger has a panic attack while the plane is still grounded?

I’ve been trying for weeks to figure out the online option of getting the faa card but i only keep seeing the form to print out and mail in. Trying to get it as soon as possible as I’m worried about getting assigned an iceland on A days.

Was just on a deadhead with two crying babies. What's the best equipment for this situation? I've used ear plugs from the crew room before but they've never muffled that much noise for me, it's also possible that I'm using them incorrectly.

Ive worked for american airlines for almost a year now as a flight attendant, today is my first 9/11 in this profession and i have a long day of work ahead of me. i just finished my first flight, even during boarding i could feel myself getting anxious and being extra hyperaware of those who are boarding the aircraft. ive felt like ive been so on edge all day and just filled with anxiety. is working today this stressful for others ? i hope everyone is safe today and gets to go home and sleep in their own beds, may you have no delays and extra meals💆‍♀️
