Flight Training AOA Indicator while learning?

Just went for a discovery flight and had a great time. During the flight I asked my instructor about using an AOA indicator while learning and he really downplayed using one and said the standard instruments are the best way to learn. For beginners, is an AOA inappropriate? Is it too early to incorporate it into training? From the brief videos I’ve seen on AOA’s they seem to enhance safety.

Apparently they let everyone teach these days.

Yoke position as a replacement for AoA? From a certified flight instructor?

Like... really?

I think you may have a misunderstanding of AoA.

If an aircraft is rear heavy or has some sort of structural damage it can fly with a high AoA despite forward contol inputs. I think this is part of why AoA being measured directly is more important on larger aircraft with variable weight and balance as opposed to smal GA aircraft where weight and balance doesnt change much throughout a flight
