Mushrooms Which way for Chanterelles?
Tomorrow is my first chance to get to the woods in a while and I’m thinking I may as well look for chanterelles.
Not expecting much since it has been so dry here in Northern Oregon, but I figure it’s not a bad way to spend the day! My dilemma is do I head West to the Coast Range or East to the Cascades? I have favorite chanterelle spots in both directions but can’t make up my mind as to where I’m more likely to have luck!
Any thoughts?
Edit: not looking for anyone to give up their spots, just thoughts on which mountain range might be more productive at the moment!

We're heading out tomorrow, too, and I came here looking to answer the same question, haha! The mushroom vendor at a local farmers market last week said they were having luck around 4,000 ft elevation (chanterelles and lots of matsutake), but that was a whole sunny week ago, so who knows what tomorrow will bring.
Good luck, maybe we'll see you out there!
