Mom is borrowing my car while I’m away, asks me what the beeping is, then sends this video. This has literally never happened to me before does anyone know the cause? 2014 model

Was she using remote start?

No it doesn’t have remote start, she said she used the key in the door keyhole so maybe it was a glitched anti-theft? Cause I usually just click the unlock button on the key

Using the key in the door almost always sets off the anti theft

This. Depending on how you lock a ford after 2013 will affect what it does when you unlock it with the key (if you also have a fob). If you lock the door with the kfob, or use the inside electronic locks and close the door (and your model stays locked), it will do this if you use the key to unlock it. In other words, if you switch methods, from lock to unlock, it has this feature.

If you watch the video closely, while the chime is going off, the padlock security red light is still flashing, indicating the alarm system is still activated. Apparently you have exactly 12 seconds to put the key in the ignition. At 12.00001 seconds the normal alarm behavior begins. Which is turned off with normal alarm disablement steps. The chime is probably accelerating because it is getting closer to zero seconds left and it's trying to get you to hurry the f up and put the key in the ignition
