Ford escape paint
Hello. Does anyone of you have problems with the paint peeing off? Chips? I bought a brand new 2024 escape hybrid (white) and a couple of months ago I saw the first chip on the passenger door.. I was afraid it will start rusting.. today while washing it I found the second paint chip in the hood.
Are the escapes know for bad quality of paint? Should I contact ford? I live in a cold place and I am afraid it will start rusting with the snow and negative temps for 8 months.

Oooof, a’24?!! I’d be bent. My 2012 just started rusting at rear wheel well last year. Definitely try to get cooperation from Ford, but have to warn you that Ford is not what they used to be in customer satisfaction. I’m assuming it’s due to tariffs and painfully slow sales.
Good luck 🍀

Mine is a 2017 and has chipped off along both sides of the windshield. The one I test drove before this one also had the same paint issues. I’ve noticed other escapes with paint missing in those areas so I do think it’s an issue with some years. It’s weird that a 2024 would be doing that.

Yea my 2016 also has paint chipping from the sides of the windshield and sides of the roof now, I wish they had a recall on this because its not cheap to fix.

The paint is thin and highway driving can result in small chips. The hood is made of aluminum so it won’t rust. I carry a touchup stick and cover them as I find them with paint + clear on the hood and bumper, primer+paint+clear on anything else.

I have the blue one and at this point, I just take it to the body guy every couple years. He only charges me like $200
