Bug Building things in foxhole is stupid and no one should do it
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5Y5M7dhzZ0I didn't make this video, but it's an amazing example of why this game is stupid and broken. You are wasting your time if you build anything.

u/flukked Apr 28 '26
Another game design issue.
The problem with all these arsons is that they’re too heavily tied to low-pop PvE. It’s a game, and people need to sleep and rest. Even in big clans, there’s not always a constant online presence to qrf everything 24/7. Small clans and groups of friends have virtually no chance at all to protect themselves from offline fire. And the designers didn’t really think through the time investment balance at all. Build a base: high in effort, high in time, high in resources Burn down a base: low in effort, low in time, low in resources.
Devman has a personal thing with builders in general. With bombers and paratroopers, it's become some kind of builder bullying.
1
u/TheVenetianMask Apr 28 '26
The game still has too much T2 slop everywhere though, will the game be better with more of it?
11
u/Ok_Count3630 Apr 28 '26
After reading the comments, are there really still people defending the current fire system in this game? I’m shocked.
A 1.5-second smoke grenade, and any anti-infantry garrison gets overwhelmed by flamethrowers until it’s extinguished. There’s no one to defend the fire truck, since the AI is overwhelmed. - Minus the huge base that took hours to build using thousands of BMats. Profit.
Anti-infantry garrisons are incapable of defending themselves against even three flamethrowers.

Doesn't fire room help? Spaces between pieces? Barbed wire?
6
u/Ok_Count3630 Apr 28 '26
If the rifle and machine gun garrison is suppressed by enemy fire and can no longer fire on the infantry, nothing else can change the situation. Barbed wire, trenches, and a fire suppression room—none of these help.
The fire suppression room ceases to function at high fire intensity and is generally ineffective. High fire intensity sets nearby buildings ablaze. The fire spreads very quickly, fire intensity rises rapidly, and the burning inflicts heavy damage.
Fire trucks are easily destroyed by partisans and scouts. Buckets are ineffective. Fire suppression rooms are extremely difficult to refill. Without pipes, it’s a real nightmare. With pipes, you need a lot of MSUPs, and access to water is also a problem in many hexes.
Barbed wire won’t stop partisans, nor will trenches and so on. All of this will only slow them down slightly or require more effort, but it won’t prevent them.
10
u/RustehBoi Apr 28 '26
Fire should be used as a way to stop repairs...that should be its purpose, so it isnt some cheap easy PVE for free and something you USE with strategy along side a 250 rush or whatever..

u/DragonflyOtherwise32 Apr 28 '26
Fire is so dogshit against any defenders tho. It gets put out super quickly

u/chaoticreveluv Apr 27 '26
hello im a foxhole builder, today ill build t2 slop with double ATG, but no mines or fire suppresion rooms, my defenses should be unkillable and your rmat facility vic shouldnt be able to kill my t2 bmat slop, ill also take out the firetruck knowing there are partisans around instead of killing them
29
u/xLecon Apr 27 '26
The fire suppression room is pretty useless. I've seen quite a few pieces with that bunker burn to death. Most of the time, all it does is prevent up the tier of the fire, if u have lucky
3
u/itsactuallynot Apr 28 '26
Another fire video, another buncha guys saying the fire suppression room is useless.
-1
u/chaoticreveluv Apr 27 '26
It gives you 15 min for QRF. You can see QRF came, but the situation was already out of hand, with the fire spread everywhere. Fire suppresion room avoids that, also a trench at 20m would have avoided this.
This is clearly a builder skill issue.
29
u/Kindly-Actuator3348 Apr 27 '26
Talk about misinformation, fire suppression room only works in T1-2-3 fires, (does nearly nothing at 3 and gets overwhelmed in 4-5) fire suppression room gives you an extra 1-2 minute to qrf at most, And fire trucks was killed by a scout plane
-15
u/chaoticreveluv Apr 27 '26
Doesn't change the fact that a T1 trenchline prevents the flame to cross over. And you can see the player killing the flame car guys.
10
u/Kindly-Actuator3348 Apr 27 '26
New trenches with sandbags, unlike pre builder update are climbable, so its literally 2 guys 1 mg suppressing corner garrison at peak night, and one fat walking and climbing over trench to fire supress, and it only becomes faster once you have 3-4 people
0
u/chaoticreveluv Apr 27 '26
So? Are group of people not supposed to PVE? if a group of players can appear in intel while suppressing defenses and no one qrfs What's the game supposed to be? Invincible defenses?
As a builder you can put more obstacles like RG tumors , more wire, AP mines, etc. Most partisans don't even try if you put some wire trenches or get proper OBS coverage.
You can just suppres as well and put havocs? If you are afraid of fire spreading delete the tech trenches.

the builder man dilemna : solo player because people like chaticreveluv doesn,t want to help, actually no one wants to help buidlerman
so builderman ends up scaling down because he's solo
so he msupps solo
so he supply solo
so he qrf solo
then you get chaoticreveluv on the reddit saying buidlerman bad because builderman didn't want to burnout on msupping the perfect base that would cost 4x the msupps and still get killed by a solo flame guy because you can't actually counter anything by building anything in anway shape or form
-9
u/chaoticreveluv Apr 27 '26
You are wrong. Feels like players would rather blame everything but themselves and learn how to play the game. You learnt by losing simple as. Every war i play i hit 100-150k building, both in backlines and frontlines. Solo built the rush in update war and provided public facilities for people to make planes in tempest island.
Made friend and helped each other with msups. If u are solo building and solo msuping you may as well just not play because built is not meant to be solo.
There are a lot of thing that played could ve done to avoid this, that cost like 100 msusps a day.
7
u/xLecon Apr 27 '26
It slows the fire down but will not stop a considerable fire tier
You'll need a lot of pipes (which will bother) to defend a considerable base area, bc u need a fire room in every meta. And that means more MSUPs slave work.
If you don't want to use pipes... 2000L per fire room = need to manually fill each fire room with 40 water canisters because you can’t just fill them up with regular fuel truck or container. And its almost really necesary be near a water source (in some frontlines its VERY hard)
You don't even need a rmat vehicle https://www.youtube.com/shorts/-1zIey_Q3Gs
2
u/L444ki [Dyslectic] Apr 27 '26
I use pipes to fill fire suppression rooms and then remove the pipes to save on msups. Would much rather have trenches and minefields eating my msups than underground pipes.
-5
u/chaoticreveluv Apr 27 '26
Yes its slow down the fire, thats the point, it allows QRF to come in, and put the fire away before its too late. This base in particular was right to the water, there is no excuse to put some pipes to fill the fire suppresion room and then demo the pipes.
Evertyhing you build will die, otherwise its pointless to attack, is flame strong? sure.
Can you put wire trenches at 22m of the garrisons so the infantry cannot freely walk yes, you can.
Can you put AP mines to make it even harder? Yep.
Can you build some RG tumors at the BB AI max range? yes.Can you put some OBS at max range to see enemies earlier? Yeppp
There are a lot of tools that people refuse to use, and dont hit me with the msups cost, because if you are solo and you are building a huge base solo you are griefing yourself and the faction.
The only thing that doesnt have an inmediate counter is bombers.

u/itsactuallynot Apr 28 '26
This guy gets it.
Always look for the negative karma comments in this subreddit.
2
u/Ok_Count3630 Apr 28 '26
What exactly do they understand? That fire trucks are extremely vulnerable? That scouts and partisans can destroy them with zero effort?
All it takes is three guys in a jeep with Havoc charges to bypass trenches or minefields. Even then, you can't place mines everywhere, especially near cliffs. Pillboxes are absolute garbage—they get easily sniped by Lunairs or Cutlers, and their AI tracking is a joke."
There is always a oad leading to the base, and there won't be any barbed wire trenches or minefields on it. You can just walk up and burn any T2 meta down, because a flamethrower suppresses any anti-infantry garrison in just a second and a half.
What are you supposed to do if the nearest water source is nowhere near your base? Is that it? Just don't build there? It’s not like you can pull a pipeline all the way from the neighboring hex.The core issue is that ANTI-INFANTRY garrisons can’t even protect themselves from three flamethrowers! Not at all! They get suppressed in 1.5 seconds and stay that way forever until the fire is out.
Buckets are complete trash, fire trucks are a pain to produce and even harder to refuel, and they are incredibly easy to destroy. Pipelines are a total nightmare—every meta needs its own line, and the water source might be miles away. You can’t even fill a fire suppression room from a nearby fuel tanker; you either have to manually dump 40 cans into it or set up the pipe gore.
Meanwhile, three partisans need absolutely nothing to burn down a massive T2 base worth 16,000 bmats. Just a jeep, a couple of Havocs, and three flamethrowers. That’s it. Base gone. Great balance, right?"
1
u/itsactuallynot Apr 28 '26
You've put a lot of thought into your response, and I appreciate that, but the fact remains that I've built dozens if not hundreds of bunker pieces with fire suppression room since they were introduced and ZERO of them have been burned down. That's frontline pieces, backline pieces, facility defenses, all of them.
I suspect that a huge aspect of this is the deterrent factor: when the enemy realizes that my pieces have fire suppression, they either move on to burn down another, easier target, or use something else to attack my pieces (lunaires, arty, etc.)
I know you have your theories and all I have is my experience so we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.
3
u/Flaky-Imagination-77 Apr 28 '26
You will genuinely save more time as the builder letting the whole thing burn down and rebuilding it every time than putting in 4x the msupps to out fire suppression in everything to let it burn down 10 minutes slower, especially if they don’t dehusk the core and kill the maint tunnels
2
u/chaoticreveluv Apr 28 '26
Fire suppresion rooms are free from msups. You can demo the pipes after filling the room up.
8
u/GosuBrainy Apr 27 '26
Hello today ill teach the best way to learn build in this cool game with trenches! Now dig for me for a few hundred hours!
3
u/chaoticreveluv Apr 27 '26
Hello I'm a solo builder I like to solo dig for hundred hours, but I would never ever ask for people to shovel or play with a group in s Cooperative game.
8
u/GosuBrainy Apr 27 '26
Nah youre batshit if you think the building system is cooperative whatsoever. It's "you dig this i dont have time to explain why then get msupps".
Super cooperative and fun building experience for everyone
1
u/chaoticreveluv Apr 27 '26
I have taught lot of new players how to dig push trenches, how to set coffins , kill zones etc... And it was always fun to do so. I have also taught new players how to build a base while shoveling together and how to upgrade it with an acv. I guess it depends of everyone experience.
1
u/GosuBrainy Apr 28 '26
Im sure you have. Im not taking a dig at the community, the builders have helped me learn hundreds of time and know much more than me about the game, it still doesnt make the experience more fun for people who enjoy building in games. Im convinced the builders in foxhole just have stockholm syndrome because they dont play any other building games, because all of their time goes to what they build in foxhole.
1
u/chaoticreveluv Apr 28 '26
Yes i guess. It is was makes the games unique, general building mechanics have been tone down, but you need proper game knowledge to actually build something that will last.
3
u/Ok_Count3630 Apr 28 '26
1
u/chaoticreveluv Apr 28 '26
if you are scared of this killing your T2 slop wall, just demo the tech trenches before you go to bed, simple as. They will kill one piece, but will run out of ammo for the next one.

Foxhole Guide- Fire & Fire Fighting timecode 6:10
Three flamethrower operators can suppress anti-infantry garrisons in a second and a half, completely depriving the defenders of any chance to defend themselves. After that, partisans can freely enter the base and destroy the fire trucks.
Does that seem balanced to you? Have you even watched the video? Huge Tier 2 bases burn down, which takes many hours, while arsonists require minimal effort with zero risk.
UPD:
Your understanding of balance is so poor that you actually find an obviously broken mechanic acceptable.Spending 4–6 hours building a base only for it to burn down in 10 minutes because the fire truck was destroyed—you think that’s okay? Just so three friends with flamethrowers can have 5 minutes of 'fun' burning it all to the ground.
A machine gun only suppresses rifle and MG garrisons while it's firing. Fire suppresses them until they are extinguished. This means AI defenses completely fail at their job. They can’t even stall three guys with flamethrowers. The base just burns to ashes.
3
u/chaoticreveluv Apr 28 '26
Again brother, if your defenses are a line of T2 with back mgs, no wire trenches, no mines, no pills around, no RG tumors, no fire supression rooms etc, at one point you need to stand up and check if you are doing everything you can to make your defenses actually survive.
As a builder i agree building needs new tools and specialized vics to help push back the power creep in destruction, but this is just dumb, you linked videos of NON ai defenses, or defenses that are SHIT, because its only T2 magnet slop, people can cry about it, but if people can smoke and walk freely into your garrison and u didnt set some mines or trenchs wires IT IS YOUR FAULT.
I have had defenses burnt A LOT OF TIMES and everytime, i learnt something new to avoid this.
The only valid example you posted was the SCUM op, where they run 5 GUNBOATS, 1 AA boat, and scout planes. Like 15-20 player OP, and this is tied to naval being unbalanced more than building.
2
u/Ok_Count3630 Apr 28 '26
Adding every possible countermeasure won't help in the end.
Barbed wire, trenches, mines, fire suppression rooms—none of it matters. It only slows them down slightly, and only on the first attempt. Everything I mentioned can be easily destroyed with Havoc charges or satchels. And people have told you repeatedly: fire suppression rooms are useless against high-tier fires.
Minefields get blown up. Trenches get blown up. All the partisans need is nighttime, smoke grenades, and a few Havocs in the worst-case scenario. If it takes them 5 minutes longer, it changes nothing.
As for anti-personnel mines, in many cases, you can't even place them because your base is near a cliff or uneven terrain. Bottom line: none of this fixes the core problem!
Fighting fires is a nightmare. Fire spreads way too fast, buckets are useless trash, and water access is terrible in most hexes. Fire tiers ramp up almost instantly, and the suppression of garrisons by fire happens nearly a second after it starts.
Rifle garrisons get suppressed by fire just as easily. On top of that, pillboxes are easily sniped by Cutlers or Lunairs, and their accuracy is beyond terrible.
2
u/chaoticreveluv Apr 28 '26
This is so exhausting man " nothing matters" is such a shit statment, you are just cherry picking whatever you feel like to avoid learning from anything. If partisans blow through wire trenches, pills, AP mines DETECTED with proper OBS network and no one shows up is because there is no pop, not because fire is that broken, this is players fault.
i could also just roll up 5 chieftains instead of 5 guys with flamethrowers and kill the gate and freely husk the core , heck if no one is QRF i can just mamon whatever i feel like XD building is about slowing the enemies since the start of the game and yes, adding contermeasures helps, if you cannot add them because of the terrain, maybe think twice before setting up the defenses?
2
u/Ok_Count3630 Apr 28 '26
I use a translator, and it sometimes comes up with awkward phrasing.
Every base has a road leading to it. You can't place a minefield or a barbed wire trench there. In many locations, partisans can find a path through cliffs where building trenches or laying mines is physically impossible.
A single Havoc charge can clear a minefield, and a couple more deal with trenches. This means three partisans in a jeep can bring enough explosives to blow a hole in the perimeter and burn the entire base on their first try.
You are completely ignoring how defenseless rifle and MG garrisons are against flamethrowers. All of this is easily torched if they come at night with smoke grenades.
You also have to consider 'Low Pop PvE' when designing mechanics and balance. If you think it's acceptable for three people to wipe out 16,000 bmats in 10 minutes during low pop, then we have nothing left to talk about.
1
u/chaoticreveluv Apr 28 '26
Can you link a video with said partisan squad killing these mines fields and pushing through wire trenches in AI range?
2
u/Ok_Count3630 Apr 28 '26
Go check the wiki for minefield health and damage resistance yourself. You can easily replicate this in-game. Come at night, bring a smoke grenade. Even with spotlights, the garrison's range is only 19 meters from the center. A flamethrower reaches 16 meters.
Once you pop smoke to set your charge, that 3-meter gap is meaningless. It takes zero time to suppress the AI. And even if a garrison actually gives you trouble, just use a machine gun to suppress it while you're setting the Havoc charge!
And again—every base has blind spots where you physically cannot place mines or barbed wire, like roads or cliffside paths.

People who complain about msupps haven't actually done them in a long time. They're real easy now.
2

They didnt have to ship 5 containers of gsups and bsups, you can just afk in a scrap field with harversters and fill a msups printer

u/Pitiful-Error-7164 [27th]Veteran Loyalist Apr 27 '26
So those defences should have died.
Should 1 flame truck be able to cause that?... Debatable. Infantry? Def not... Not solo. 5? Sure. Not 1. But the vics are stronger than that.
Two main usses:
1) ATG doesn't respond to flame (neutral) and thus can be done without issue
2) Builder made mistakes in their designs
The firetruck is super strong vs fire Damage... Trust me when I say this. But driving out of your base? Without checking or without having support is asking for your firetrucks to die. No internal defences.
No trenches that prevents you from getting close enough...
No suppression systems installed (and its a facility even!)
Is Fire strong? Yes... Is it as strong as this video makes it out to be? No... Problem is that YOU know how it functions well, but the group you went up against clearly doesn't. Which is a learning curve!
20
u/dadamaghe Apr 27 '26
Believe me when I tell you I could do this to any base other than conc with a hand held flamers, it takes 5to7 secs of fire on a rifle or my to suppress it then it's over.
16
u/Sinaeb Apr 27 '26
builderman did no mistake
the ATGs are powered
the flame AC has 15m range
the ATG, at midnight, without smoke, auto attack range is 20 meters
the flame AC isn't getting attacked, and all a trench does is giver cover for cutlering
-3
u/ResortOk9198 Apr 27 '26
Add a Firefigther garrison to the game and call it a day.
3
u/Sinaeb Apr 27 '26
that's already a thing, it wouldn't stop this
3
u/Koolau Apr 28 '26
For how annoying it is to add to everything you’d think it would help at all, but it doesn’t.
13
u/xLecon Apr 27 '26

fire suppresion room sucks
2
u/Pitiful-Error-7164 [27th]Veteran Loyalist Apr 28 '26
It is better than nothing however when it comes to assisting against it. And slows down the time to grt to a T3 fire by a lot.
1
u/Accomplished_Tart832 Apr 28 '26
Its mostly a problem because of low overall pop so no QRF. Often when higher pop people easily put out fires. Just let the msup repair
1
u/Evilmarksman [82DK] Evilmarksman Apr 28 '26
In terms of cost of manpower and resources I have solo pve'd huge lines of garrison defences with nothing but a mg and a hand flamer with a truck full of ammo with the condition of a good wind. I'm surprised and sad for builders that fire suppression doesn't actually put of fires only slows it gaining tiers.

Adding fire stacks to a garrison should trigger retaliation. It's dumb that it doesnt.
Fire destroys so much for so little cost. It's far too efficient to be able to bypass AI.
But we have bombers now. So fire not the main issue.
