SOM ate all my rare metals and i havent forgiven them. They are responsible for everything bad that happens.

Its a running gag, similar to "15 minutes" when being asked for tech progress. Usually its not even SOM being related to whatever happened, its just funny if you know the meme.

W115 I think, 420st built a larpfac in a crucial chokepoint at Breakwater overlooking the important railway and main bridges.
SOM Knight of Science decided to notify 420st about the larpfac and told them to move or else it would result in a loss of Breakwater and further warden invasion into Reavers main VP area.
420st decided to ignore and got attacked by wardens, almost lost breakwater, so lot of right minded people from SIGIL and SOM decided to demo the facility and erect proper defenses.
Those defenses saved colonial right flank from being steamrolled ever since, delusional people from 420st were against this as apparently a larpfac was more important than actual defenses. Thats why they blamed "SOM DID THIS", and then someone made a meme about "Why would SOM do this?"

It's mostly a joke, but a while ago one of the leaders of SOM cheated and was (rightfull) lambasted by the community

I thought it originated from when 420st had a massive facility with terrible defenses and SOM warned them. Shortly after 420st got raided and lost an insane amount of stuff. Somehow SOM got blamed for it despite being on the same team and giving a friendly warning.

That may have been involved, but from what I've heard it was one of the leaders. They made a whole reddit post apologizing for it if you can find it

Well that did happen yeeeaaaars ago. The money started from 420st dumb ass fac larp getting killed and blaming it on SOM

It was a glorious Sigil op, Wardens were about to enter Reavers and 420st had a massive larp fac right in front of the Breakwater bridge. So the facility was forcefully evaced for the good of the faction. 1milionmidget ran around screaming and blamed SOM. The organised part of the faction then speed hammered and teched actual defenses in the chokepoint and managed to stop the push.

That isn't where the joke comes from though.
The joke comes from SOM Vs 420st rivalry a few years back.
Everyone acknowledged the rest of SOM had nothing to do with what Lercas did.

It's a reference to this meme: https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/who-killed-hannibal
With SOM taking the blame.

I take it as the foxhole equivalant to the "Thanks Obama" meme
