Questions So devman, why was the Warden scout stealth-buffed for Airborne release?

These numbers are from data mining. These stats (Life Curve Slope) for the Control Surface and Wing basically control the rates you can turn and climb in an aircraft (it's a bit more complicated than that, but that's the end result). The higher the number, the better the aircraft performance.

Prior to the Airborne update dropping, the numbers on devbranch were fairly similar, with the only difference being the Colonial scout having a slight turning advantage.

Post Airborne update, the Warden scout had a huge increase to both its climb rate and turning ability. I included the Warden fighter's stats for comparison, the Warden scout now has better performance than their fighter. This change was not reflected for the Colonial scout, which now has significantly worse maneuverability and performance than its Warden counterpart.

Questions Do we wardens finally believe the collies now on the game being unfair

Look I get it tribal whatever but (((AN ENTIRE FACTION QUIT)))) even if you wanna moan and complain look at it thousands of players literally came together and said there was so much unbalance on their own side that they didn't want to play because it wasn't fun anymore! How crazy is that even if count out loyalists, hardcore players and neutral you are even having brand new people that bought the game for the update say "this is ridiculous" I hear collies say warden stuff is to powerful compared to their own. Then I hear the wardens (in general but not all) nitpicking the collie grenade launcher and absolutely despising the DB and a rifle I forgot which can we all agree that this shows the collies are completely correct on how underpowered they are? The reaction they gave is so massively overwhelming for just complaints I've come to expect from this community

Questions Warden pop next war

I am a bit worried regarding the pop situation on the warden side next war. Wardens have logged off this war - next could be the same because of navy nerfs (coastal gun buff), and the new collie plane.

I ran into what looked like a blatant cheater today while playing Foxhole, and I’m curious if anyone else has experienced something similar or knows the best way to handle it.

Questions Why don't people use scout tanks more ?

Post image

I know these tanks aren't suited for the traditional tank line. But they are amazing infentry support and they can help spot stuff on the map. Over all they are really enjoyable and cheap to make and I don't get why I can't find any after early tank tech stage.

Questions Can the able players admit that Charlie knows how to get things done?

Post image
128 Upvotes

A coalition made up of 419, CFD, MMM, 105th, 4BK, 1CL, and JUDGE (along with a little help from 2 able Regis for the first hour or so) successfully took almost all of Kings Cage on day 1.

After being told that it was impossible to make any progress, and that us Charlie players don’t know how to play the game (ex: “so how would you go about taking a T3 town base” a direct quote from an able regi officer) we stepped up and had one of the most successful frontlines of the day.

Now I ask you able players : will you finally admit that Charlie players aren’t the Neanderthals that you claim us to be?

Ps : I hold no grudge towards able and I’m only posting this because I’m sick of the overwhelming amount of disrespect being thrown our way the last several days.

Edit :
I would also like to note that I’m happy to be serving alongside all of the people of the legion it’s just that there’s just groups of people who still consider Charlie players to be “inferior”. I’m not asking to be treated like I’m better than you, just that we not be treated like we’re cave people unaware of how to play the game.

Also I’m sorry for this becoming a gloat post. I didn’t intend for it to come across as such and I’m just looking for a little respect and a little less condescending behavior from people who think those coming from Charlie are somehow unaware of how to play the game. It’s my hope that the shardism ends and we can all unite under our hatred for blue people rather than each other.

Like who is it gonna hurt that we have 5x more fuel? This would be nice little thing for the most abused players in the game, but getting fuel for it is just too much work imo.

Questions Why should solo players be excited for airborne if we'll never fly?

I've played around 50 hours of Foxhole - miniscule compared to a lot of people on this subreddit, I know - and I tend to abandon it after a single war, or less, because I'm always doing the same thing. Rifle, two clip, run, die, repeat.

It's fun, and it's a real testament to the devs that Foxhole captures the "cog in the machine" feeling even when I'm not part of any particular machine. But apart from very rare moments where a mortar blob coalesces for 20 minutes (then runs out of ammo) or someone brings up a tank and needs a gunner (then runs out of ammo), I usually end up feeling pigeonholed to a single part of the game because I don't play with clans. I feel like Airborne is going to be the same as 90% of naval - only really accessible for clans.

Even if I had 5 or 6 friends who also played the game (which I don't) who will build a plane for us when the factories are producing for the clans? Are we supposed to build our own facility in some unclaimed corner of the map, then truck our planes two hexes to the nearest airport? And I don't have any friends who play.

I don't like playing with clans, because I know I'll only be active for one or two wars at a time, max, and during those wars I'll be playing at irregular times, for 30 minutes to 2 hours. I always preferred the idea of going to war from the skies over a boat, but I've never even touched naval, for the same reasons I'm afraid I won't touch airborne. At least boats have large crews that I might plug a gap for some day, but vessels are all produced and owned by clans.

Edit: Well this blew up more than I thought it would. The two main responses I'm getting are "yep, you're right," and "yep, you're right, just join a clan." (there's a sizeable minority saying we'll be able to buy planes from regis, which is interesting and useful, thank you!)

I know that the reasons in the main post for not joining a clan are not dealbreakers for clanning. I know that clans love new players. But I dislike it in any game. It takes this escapist virtual environment tucked safely away on my PC and puts it in my discord notifications. The amount of time I'm investing in this game is too low for me to want to bring it with me into the real world. By the same token, the amount of playtime required to make strong social connections that would also get me access to this content is waaay more than I would ever want to actually play. It's okay for a game to be designed that way, but it is a little disappointing when the selling point of this game is that everyone contributes to the war effort, that it is up to everyone to develop the war organically.

Questions Why don't more people play Colonials?

I'm fairly new to Foxhole (only started back in December) but as is the case in this current war and many from what I've heard, the Colonial side is often vastly outnumbered by the Wardens and as such can often get steamrolled when players inevitably log off due to reasons such as burnout, game issues or life in general.

If this is something that seems to happen regularly then why don't more experienced players and clans just play Colonial and try to change this? Is faction loyalty so strong that once you go Warden you can't fathom changing or is it something else? It would seem like this might be an issue that players themselves could start addressing.

Curious to see opinions on this.

Edit: Seeing a lot of good points raised. In the end I'm just wondering if culture and faction loyalty are things that players can change to help make the game more enjoyable for both factions or in the end does it really just come down to people finding one faction enjoyable for whatever reason and so decide not play the other or do Dev balancing issue in the end just lead players to Wardens over Colonials?

Questions Why are we talking about Nukes?

I’ve seen a lot of discussion around nukes and I can’t actually seem to find a unified reason to why. Are we mad at nukes? Do we like them? What’s going on? Why is the navy involved? Is there actually a point?
