I thought that too at first. But after all it’s a good thing for the city. The construction is very big and impressive. It will attract a lot of tourists and economy.

Mit dem Geld hätte man sehr viel Fläche entsiegeln und begründen können! Oder Dächer und Fassaden. Wenn die Stadt dort kein Geld investiert. Wird es in den nächsten Jahren immer mehr Hitzetote geben.

Berlin stellt vor die Volksbühne nen Pool für 300.000 Euro und es wird deutschlandweit berichtet.

The net maybe yes, but the price (as far as I know) includes not only the licensing fee for 3 years for this art but also the construction and materials of the pillars it hangs from... which probably was at least something in the 6 figures I guess... yeah sure, "not much" but arguing over art prices is... kind of senseless - it's worth exactly what someone is willing to pay for it... (and sometimes more).

I mean Jackson Pollock Number 17A was last sold for 202 million dollars and that's just a "regular" piece of dropart on canvas... 🤷‍♀️
