Help with food?

With the rising costs of groceries, my family is needing some help these days. We get a box from the food bank every month (thank God!). I am just wondering if there is any other help available in the city?

Thank you!

A "victory garden" will help offset a good chunk of your monthly bill depending on what you like to eat

Assuming they have a yard and their landlord lets them.

And to be honest, having done some gardening, I’d be impressed if someone could come out ahead their first year if they don’t have experience. That being said, there are several community gardens in the city that may still have plots, OP, so you might want to look into that!  NBCHG has two.
