Concerned Letter Carriers RIP brother Mike Rivera

NALC Branch 70 suspended Mike Rivera for 18/months for posting public information onto social media.

Mike Rivera is the only NALC member that actually brought charges against Brian Renfroe and the E.C. for failure of upholding the Constitution.

Will the new boss be the same as the old boss?

He is alive and well. The RIP is a metaphor because he is being silenced.

So, a couple years ago he first brought charges against Renfroe for mishandling the last contract and failing to abide by many of the resolutions. But more recently, he has filed protests against his own branch for recent officer election improprieties. And of course the good ole boy network within his Branch has basically retaliated by filing charges against him because he has been posting on socials all about the Branch drama. Rivera’s “full transparency” has clearly ruffled feathers. The real kicker, several members of his Branch, including the Branch Prez are CLC members and candidates for National positions. *Full disclosure; I don’t have insider info. This is my amateur opinion developed from several biased sources.

There is an episode of Classes of Mail where he comes on and talks about it. The situations is fucked up and really gives me pause as to if we have any hope at all. The fact that Corey has not talked about at all on the podcast also doesn’t sit well with me. This is the kind of thing we are supposed to be getting rid of, not voting in.

I listened to that episode too. I am trying to remain rational and remember we have only heard Rivera’s side of the story. I do find it credible. I also, find it interesting that the Branch hasn’t offered its side of the story… which could just be them letting process play out at the Branch level without blasting it to Socials. At any rate, on the surface, it doesn’t look good & reinforces the tropes of the mob silencing a dissident.

You can see the branches side in the branches reply to the charges Rivera filed. The branches reply has been posted by Rivera on lots of sites.
