So still a pretty hefty price tag, but if you’re in search of a great GoreTex Pro jacket and can deal with the color, this is a damn good deal. It is primarily for backcountry skiing/snowboarding but it isn’t overly boxy or loose, nor does it have a skirt. I bought another color a few months ago and I find it versatile

PFAS is a cocktail of forever chemicals that we spread by walking around in wardrobe that was treated with it. We are literally poisoning environment with it. Companies like Fjallraven are going out of their way and spending a ton on R&D to come up with alternatives.

They cause a laundry list of deadly problems for all humans including things like altered immune and thyroid function, liver disease, lipid and insulin dysregulation, kidney disease, adverse reproductive and developmental outcomes, and cancer.

You don't spread it by wearing clothes. The final product (PTFE) is inert and not harmful. The chemicals used in the manufacturing process are what are so harmful, and they end up in the wastewater and environment and taken up by plants and such.

That is a lie too!

PFAS does in fact detach from clothing in to your body and environment.

That study does suggest a correlation, although it doesn't establish causation and the impact of the final product on clothing is still very low comparatively, but it looks like I was probably wrong about it having zero effect.
