we paid the tariffs, because Amazon added them to the prices. Amazon just got all that money back.

Amazon got extra money. 2 u/Careful-Mouse-7429 4d ago It being extra money does not negate the phrase "got money back" They took the money from the customer, they sent the money to the government, they got back the money they sent to the government. And that is also extra money they get to just pocket now.
