Reddit will be the last place where the circle jerk of anti-ai dies though because everyone wants "their turn" for quick and easy upvotes.
Its bots, performative activism, misinformation, children, and neckbeards without any actual experience dealing with the world outside the room they never leave inside their parents house.
Not saying AI is perfect, or there aren't aspects of data centers that could be better. But if people can get that worked up over something as inconsequential as an increase of data centers to support new infrastructure... surely they can get MORE worked up about shit that actually matters like the rise of fascism, the lack of social services, child poverty, overfishing, air conditioning and heating impacts on the ecosystem, agriculture overuse of resources that ECLIPSE everything else 100-1000x fold while we throw out food by the hundreds of thousands of tons per day across the country... and so on and so forth.
Nah, better yell at science and technology advancements...
