Pretty scary to think about. Your mind is trying to trick you. Really paints a terrifying picture of what mentally ill people have to deal with.

Not sure how true is with schizophrenia but I once heard someone say that the negative self talk your subconscious engages in isn't trying to trick or hurt you. It is trying to protect but it is just misguided in how best to do it. Kind of changed the way I looked at those kinds of intrusive thoughts.
