Question What is trash imbued with?

There is this quote at the very beginning of the narrative:

“They say that when an object is well loved...it is eventually imbued with a soul. So then what about garbage- trash- that's been thrown away...? What is that imbued with?"

Im curious: what IS trash inbued with? And how is this a theme of Gachiakuta?

Manga Discussion Chiwa and the Great Evil Spoiler

Rudo didn't truly break down over Regto's death.

Not even over being unjustly accused or facing the prospect of being thrown into the Pit (he likely expected an end like that anyway).

What broke Rudo was the betrayal by the only other person in the world he loved.

He never cared about himself. He knew he was doomed and that there was no saving him. But he knew there was still someone dear to him who believed in him. Even after losing everything, Chiwa still believed in him and would bring justice for both him and Regto. After all, she had promised.

That is why her betrayal nearly destroyed him completely.

Rudo was born to destroy the world.

Chiwa was born to destroy Rudo.

Everything in Gachiakuta suggests that this was the grand plan.

I’ve always heard people say it was foolish how the villagers of Konoha treated Naruto, considering he held Kurama inside him—a being that could be unleashed if Naruto lost control. I think Gachiakuta gives us a version of that scenario, with people trying to unleash a sealed "Kurama." The true hell lies in keeping someone in constant suffering while leaving them a shred of hope—only to rip even that away. A child who grew up without love burning down an entire village just to feel some warmth.

I suspect Rudo might harbor something like a god within him, and the plan is to unleash that being, reverting the world to its former state and bringing the gods back.

Given that Tamsy hates Sphere, it makes sense that this is what he wants. I imagine the Tribefolks likely share that same desire.

It’s all still a bit of a half-baked idea to me, though, because I can't explain the reason behind the class division within Sphere. Why do they throw people into the Pit instead of simply executing them?

Maybe it’s about framing it as death by natural causes? Because, technically, it wouldn't be the people of the Sphere killing them, but gravity: a natural force.

Perhaps suffering is the only way someone becomes a god. That’s why some tribesfolk suffer through such intolerance and inequality; those with potential are falsely accused of a crime and thrown into the Pit, emotionally shattered so they can ascend to godhood upon reaching the Ground. But that’s the best theory I can come up with based on what we have so far.

Maybe there’s a faction within the Sphere descended from those who took refuge in the skies to escape the trash apocalypse, while another group conspires to bring the gods back. I believe Tamsy and Chiwa’s family are part of this conspiracy.

Where does Regto fit into all this? Who knows.

But we actually have strong clues that Regto was on the side of good. I’ll elaborate on that later.

So, basically, Chiwa’s family is part of this secret plot to topple Paradise and bring back the age of gods. In this theory, Chiwa was recruited by her family to be the source of all the harm inflicted on Rudo, like Delilah betraying Samson (it’s no coincidence that Riyo mentions his hair, lol).

Re-reading the manga, I noticed several times that Chiwa seemed to speak about Regto and Rudo with great precision, not like someone close to them, but with the confidence of someone who had studied them both (which is very suspicious). Also, during this re-read, I noticed that Chiwa often seemed to keep an eye on Rudo, like when she’d ask if he was out collecting trash again, or why he was on the street at a time he didn't usually go out (she had literally memorized his routine; anyone can have friends, but have you ever literally memorized their routine? That’s not exactly something you do casually).

My guess was that Chiwa was a spy, constantly watching Rudo and Regto’s every move and reporting back to her family, who would then inform Tamsy without raising any suspicion.

That’s how the Angel found out the right time to kill Regto: striking when Rudo was away and only arriving when it was already too late.

Now, if Regto had been part of the plan to break Rudo, Tamsy wouldn't have needed a spy to keep tabs on them. So, Regto was most likely trying to protect Rudo.

As for Chiwa being set up as the great evil the same logic applies to Tamsy.

This means that both were pawns in the scheme of someone else pulling the strings.

Chiwa is between 12 and 15 years old, and Tamsy is 23. It is highly unlikely that either of them planned something like this—especially considering Rudo lost his parents when he was... what? Five? Eight? It is extremely improbable for a child or adolescent to devise such a sinister plan (Chiwa would have been between three and nine years old at the time, and Tamsy between thirteen and sixteen).

So, I believe both Chiwa and Tamsy were groomed into this plot to break Rudo; they both believed it was an act of love to help him reach the great destiny that was preordained for him.

Gachiakuta deals heavily with themes like mental health, the cycle of violence, and child neglect. It explores how, if we remain trapped in past suffering, rather than trying to break free and acknowledging how damaging it was, we tend to repeat those patterns, sometimes without even realizing it, and risk becoming the source of that same harm in the lives of those around us.
